Love the value here! Cleveland won 93 games last year. The nucleus of the team is still intact, and I like the rotation (Sabathia, Westbrook, Lee, Byrd, Johnson). The Indians should continue to pound the baseball this season. Victor Martinez is a budding superstar behind the plate. In my opinion, Cleveland can defeat any team from the AL in a seven game series.

MOST of the nucleus is intact. losing coco is going to affect them quite a bit. agree with the value @16-1, and they definitely have a shot to win the division, but i don't see them beating the angels or the yankees in a seven game series. gl man.

... you're absolutely correct. the problem? it's cleveland. they will find a way to fu.ck it up -- that much i can assure you. they were the best team in baseball in october last year. then they proceeded to absolutely gag their way out of the playoffs by basically getting swept at home by tampa and a couldn't-care-less chicago. one thing a lot of people in cleveland are taking for granted it the pitching. nobody got hurt. and things broke almost perfectly for them in terms of the starting rotation. it would be a miracle if the 5 this year combined to pitch as well as the 5 did last year. hafner and martinez were both batting .200 about 2.5 months into the season last year. that can't happen again because the pitching won't be there to save them.

gman,

Yes, the Indians are jinxed, but I'm sure Boston fans said the same thing about the Red Sox' chances of winning it all two years ago. Chicago fans probably dismissed the White Sox from any World Series consideration prior to the beginning of last season. Anything can happen, and eventually will happen. A team must have talent, and the players must believe in each other. George Mason is a great example. I think Cleveland can be one of these teams. We shall see!

wise:

you are forgetting that boston has had many championships in the last few decades. chicago has had many championships in the last few decades. thats why i laugh when i hear about 'long suffering' boston fans. how many titles have the celtics and patriots won? same with chicago. the bulls only won, what- 6? cleveland hasn't won shit - period - in 40+ years. im not sure the indians werent better LAST year. you have to understand that all futures bets on any team from the city of cleveland are considered a waste of money until proven otherwise.

I understand your frustration. This future probably has added value due to the city of Cleveland's misfortunes. I still like it. The Indians won 93 games last year, and I think they can win at least that many this season. Sizemore, Peralta, Belliard, Hafner, and Martinez are solid young players. I like the addition of Byrd and Johnson at the bottom of the rotation. The bullpen is top notch. Let's see what happens!
