2005 was great. hope everyone has a good season this year. lots of good people here. that's why i like to post. not like some of the other areas where its a lot of fighting and children.

CWS -121 x 2.

even putting this bet in made me feel like a real square. unfortunately, i think its just the right side. cold windy night. cc isn't a huge fan of the cold. home opener for defending champs is usually a let down spot, but i'm guessing that's coming tuesday at their ring ceremony. cc hasn't looked good this spring with the tribe sporting a 6.66 era and giving up 28 hits in 24 innnings along with 24 runs. pretty good lifetime against the palehose with basically a 4 era.
buerhle is pretty similar era wise, but only a 7-7 record. his preseason has been a little better giving up 10 earned in 29 and a 3.33 era.
game really is a crapshoot, but how can you not play the opener. i feel square, but expect to get paid. you can argue cleveland wants the game more, but buerhle at home season opener against nemesis, i'll take the team with the pitcher in better form.

random thoughts:

-hard to gauge umps into your handicapping early as lots of them flip flop from year to year o/u and dog/fav

-cubs will be better than people think

-sox will be every bit as good as last year talent wise, might not hit same record.

-cleveland will challenge sox again til the end, but should be able to get wild card.

-victor martinez will finally get the recognition he deserves as best catcher in game.

-dodgers will win west (homer play) and then lose 3-1 to whoever in first round. their division is embarrasing.

-padres will be way down this year

-roger clemens will never throw a pitch for houston again

-mets will not win the east

-anaheim won't win al west

-again yankees are best team on paper, only i don't think they struggle at all this year.

-toronto will surprise some people, although i already see people on here touting them.

-the colorado rockies should be banished from baseball. the novelty is over.

-florida is every bit as bad as people think

-al: yanks, cws, cle, oak

-nl: atl,st. l, lad, nym

ws: cards, yanks, yanks in 6

have a great season everyone.

----Rex agrees with most of what you have to say except for the Halos prediction.....Bullpen will be even stronger this season and the best in the majors.....small ball and baserunning will make up for our lack of power....Halos win another world series :scared :scared :142smilie :SIB

Good luck to you BDB. Agree Dodgers should win west. Division is pretty bad overall and the Padres did not improve at all. Piazza and Castilla, lol. As for the Rockies, i'll be probably will be laughed off this board but they will improve by 10-15 games this year in my humble opinion. :s4:
