Usually 9-10 players based on what site you are on. Blinds move up fairly quick (usually 10 minutes), Usually you start with 1500 in chips and they generally only last about an hour.

Party Poker Sit N Go's start with 2000 chips, speed touraments blinds go up every 5 minutes, regular touraments every 10 minutes. Speed's last around 30 minutes, Reg's last around 1 hour.

Pokerstars Sit N Go's start with 1500 chips, Turbo tournaments last around 30-40 minutes, Regular tournaments last anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes depending on what level you play.

They also have 6 player Sit N Go's on both sites. They can be turbo or regular formats. I dont have much experience with them.

I play hundreds of Sit N Go's every month on Party, if you have any questions about the format or strategy feel free to get my email from Jack.

Hope this helps!

I like sit and go's more than cash games on the net, because personally I can deal better with bad beats in this format.

I would definately start out with sit and go's if you are just starting on the internet. Less of a risk of blowing your bankroll quickly.

I completely agree, I refuse to play anymore cash games online even if it just for a few minutes with sit n go profits. I can finish out of the money in 3 SNG's in a row + the rake and win the next one and still end up being up a few bucks.

I used to play 2 or 3 SNGs at the same time, but since Im usually talking on AIM and such now Im only playing 1 and its working out alot better for me. If you play multiple SNGs, you need to be paying good attention otherwise you are basically throwing out strategy/reads/betting patterns you gain on opponents.

I love sngs.

They are almost all I play.

Pokerstars (sponsor) is the best site to play. First, they are a sponsor of this site. Second, their 2-3 table regular speed sng last about an hour. You can schedule a game around what you are doing in your day.

If you are going to play a Multi-Table SNG then play the 3-Table game and definatly not the 2-Table version.

The payout structure greatly benefits the 3-Table version, especially if you manage to win.

The 2-table version takes the single extra payout (4th place) and deducts it entirely from the winners share.

In a $10 game the payout for first in a single table game is $45.00, in a two table game it is only $72.00 while 2nd and 3rd all pay out twice as much for the 2-Table game compared to the Single table game.

I really think some of the 4th place money should be deducted from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, why should you get penalized for winning the game?

In a 3-Table game not only do they pay down to 5th place, but you are not playing short handed so early in the game when you get down to 10-12 players since they will condense from 3 to 2 tables when you hit 18 players, this gives you enough time to build up a chip stack before having to play 5 handed for a while.

Also the payout for 1st is $100 while 2nd still picks up as much as the winner of a 2-Table game.

thanks for input.

so, it seems you are trying to collect the most 'chips' at the end of the time limit and/or knock out the other table players,

is this right?

if so seems like there would be alot of bluffing/ all in'ts towards end of time. also, is this pot limit or no-limit or both.

Sit n gos or (sng) are just like the tourneys you see on tv. "Poker with the stars" or whatever....all play until one person has all the chips.

The bluffing is usually more towrds the start than the end, as ppl have more chips that they can "waste".
