guys,
I am playing in a Master's Pool , and wanted to get some opinions on who to go with. I essentially try to pick the top 5 golfers, but here are the rules.
Five golfers are selected for your team. TWO teams maximum. 40% is paid to the team(s) that contains the 2006 Masters winner, with ties split evenly. If no team has the winner, the money rolls to the scoring payoffs. 40% is paid to the team scoring winner, 15% paid to team finishing second, and 5% is paid for third. Team scoring ties are decided by the best finish on each team all the way down to the fifth player (in case of ties in players 1*4). Team scoring is determined by adding together the low 4 players DAILY scores on your team. If enough players miss the cut so that a team doesn't have enough scores that day (either Sat. or Sun.) then a score of 80 for the nonqualifing player(s) is recorded to fulfill the team's requirement of 4 daily scores.
If more than 10 teams contain the winner of the tournament (i.e. The "Tiger Rule?), all money rolls to the overall scoring winners. If this contingency occurs, we'll pay five places instead of three: first place takes 50%, second 25%, third 12.5%, fourth 7.5% and fifth 5%. And remember, all money is always paid out.
So, I can have 2 teams. Should one be clear favorites, and the other be comprised of longer shots?
Thanks.
