This crap bugs the hell out of me. How do I get rid of some of these annoying start up programs in the taskbar notification tray. I know I can hide them but I want to either remove them or keep them from starting up when windows starts up.

select run
type msconfig in box
select startup tab
this will show you what programs run on startup and you can check those you wish to run and just uncheck others

ok thanks that will work, now i gotta figure out what runs what. also found that some of the icons have options which allow you to keep them from running in the tray area.
