Ray,
Respect your knowledge and always follow your picks as well as being a Mets fan but Peavy owns the Mets in SD and with the limited lineup and Trachsel's so-so track record against the Pods, I have to wonder about this pick. But like I said I am a Mets fan so I will be coattailing you again.

Good Luck to us!!

Baltimore strong

Cleveland was bombed 19-8 last night by Baltimore as the Tribe bullpen now sports a bloated 5.76 ERA on the year.

The Cleveland pen is beat up, too, as relievers Miller (strained elbow) and Betancourt (upper back strain) had to leave last night's game with injuries. The Indians will need relief help today as Baltimore is set to attack rookie starter Fausto Carmona.

The Cleveland right-hander looked good in his first big league start last week against the Tigers, but he'll have his hands full with a Baltimore lineup that featured all nine starters getting at least two hits last night.

Baltimore has won five of its last seven games and wants to end this extended homestand on a high note. The O's will send left-hander Erik Bedard to the hill as he's won each of his three starts this year and has a nice 2.25 ERA.

Bedard seems to have thrived under new pitching coach Leo Mazzone as he has lasted at least seven innings in two of his three starts.

In three career starts versus the Indians, Bedard has a nice 3.18 ERA. He'll be on today and while Baltimore may not approach the 19 runs they scored Wednesday, the O's will push enough runs across to win this rubber game.

TAMPA BAY (Kazmir) +155 over BOSTON (Wakefield)

After getting knocked around the past two nights,
look for the Devil Rays to salvage the last game
of the series. You never know what to expect when
Tim Wakefield is on the hill, but Tampa Bay has
turned a profit vs. righthanders so far (+$275) and
have averaged 5.1 runs per game in those contests,
The Red Sox have been far less effective vs. lefties
(only 4.0 runs per game) and Scott Kazmir is a proven
commodity (3.78 ERA in 32 starts last year) who's
managed to turn a +$200 profit after his first three
starts. getting a nice underdog price with one
of the league's top young southpaws, and a team
that can generate some offense.
