have heard nothing but good things about him from very bright football guys. then again, there was a lot of hype surrounding justin zwick at ohio state a few years back and many sharp people felt zwick was cant miss as well. time will certainly tell. but quite the coup for the irish

This is a CRUCIAL building block for the Notre Dame of the future. Other top recruits will follow JC's lead, and with a little luck Notre Dame will be a breeding ground for NFL talent again.

The fact that Weis is NFL proven and primed will continue to attract NFL type talent. Its crazy to go out on a limb and start predicting "national championships" but I dont think its too early to predict ND being consistently in the national title hunt every year in the near future. All the professional talent in the world doesnt get you a championship though, just ask the Uconn Huskies bball program. But it does mean they will be a powerhouse in college football again like it was pre-Bob Davie era. 9-3, 10-2 will be expected from ND every year, not just a pleasant suprise like it was in 05.

All you ND haters, batten down the hatches. Its going to be brutal in the next couple years.

Claaussen is very good and an excellent pickup, but the hype is mostly media. Most of the scouts and recruiting services have other quarterbacks ranked just as high. Of course, only time will tell.

:com:  :142smilie Games over ? This kid is a junior,a junior, his name is jimmy, showed up at the College football hall of fame, with the hair, did you see the hair,3 championships rings on his hand, stretch hummer limo,15 people, public relations firm, says he going to win 4 national championships, parents throw a party of all parties. How are they going to get jimmy's head in the door ? Will he make it threw his senior yr ? Do you think anyone will be gunning for jimmy ? Will he live up to the hype that his parents have paid for ? This will not end well for jimmy. Are you kidding me ? What parent pays for a public relations firm to hype their son ? Is it just me or does anyone see something wrong with this picture ? This kids life is like a ****ing B movie, that wont play out in the real world.

The kid has talent

The kid has talent

His stats are pretty ridiculous and the competition he plays against is strong too...there is no doubt he has the tools...it was also a really good move on his part going to play for one of the best QB developing coach's in college...Weis could mold him to something really special...I am really interested to see what Brady Q. does with his second year under Weis...But as for JC...like G-man said only time will tell...

As for the recruiting aspect...I agree I am sure we'll all see a good flow of talent go ND's way for the next few years...I am sure some of you disagree but to me every few years the talent seems to shift from teams to teams in cycles and top programs will have to rebuild...Its going to happen to OSU next year and I think SC this year and maybe the following as well...kind of like how Miami was getting all that talent for so long then all sudden you have guys transfer because of lack PT and then the great players end up leaving early for the draft...eventually the depth starts to deplete and the team needs to go through a rebuilding process...I am sure we'll see them right back at the top its just a matter of time...of course great recruiters will get their talent but I just think the amount of talent always goes up and down over the years...

sorry for being sort of :topic:

LOL - I love haters... Rick Mirer was the second pick in the NFL draft. Josh Booty has yet to prove himself, because he was starting behind Lienart the last two years. Please try and make some sense when you post. BTW - None of those players had the the hype of Jimmy Clausen.
