alaska
Another true dinosaur, like the 300lb alligator gar six five posted two weeks ago.We catch 400+ lb halibut in alaska as well as trophy fish of many other non salmon species, and I always wonder the same thing:how old was that fish?100 years?70 years?they say sturgeon get to be very old.It kinda makes a part of me sad that a fish that lived so long met its end, wish they would have released it after the picture or two.I've fished as long as I can remember,I love to fish, its my #1 outdoor pleasure.Salmon die after a month in the fresh water and get to have sex for the first and only time, poor things.they never live longer than 8 or 9 years and that is only in very rare cases with kings(chinook). The smaller species don't ever see five years most typically three.Anyway, big sturgeon.
