N.Y. METS (Glavine) -120 over SAN FRANCISCO (Cain) strong
Tom Glavine is enjoying his best season as a member
of the Mets, checking in here with a miniscule 1.38 ERA
after his first four starts. That's bad news for a Giants'
team that has averaged a paltry 2.0 runs per game in
three starts vs. southpaws. To make matters worse, SF
is forced to send a struggling pitcher (Cain -$320, with a
6.75 ERA in three starts) against a first place New York
team with a 5-2 record on the road vs righthanders (+$300),
averaging 6.2 runs per game in those contests. They
have looked sharp since opening day, and are an excellent
value as short favorites here.
