I have no problem with people being shot for no reason as long as those people aren't me. As long as I'm holding the gun and it's pointing away from me, then my odds are OK.

Don't worry Weasel, I'm hyping a non-existent situation. In fact, I don't even think I'll be going to Phoenix next month anyway. After that, the next reasonable opportunity for a fight would be October, because I'd really rather not visit hell on earth unless there was a girl involved.

Watch it!!! That's my possible future home you're talkin' about there!

Wease- were you on a short break from the site when Skeeter1 threatened to kick Saul's ass? It was quite humorous... not the threat so much, but the reason he was so upset.

Come to think of it, Weasel is partly responsible for the near fight. The Muhommed icon was partially inspired by Weasel's constant bashing of media for not showing the cartoon. So there I go displaying Alibaba for all to see - taking one for the team - and first threat I get is from Rush Limbaugh himself. ....I don't know, I guess that's kind of a microcosm of our country these days. We are not the brightest knives in the shed ...or sharpest bulbs ....or whatever the hell I'm trying to say.

Finster, if you can manage the 120 mercury readings, god bless ya! Now that I'm able to be away from Vegas, I've returned to my old whimpy standards. It hit like 85 here yesterday and I was all "man, it's already too hot!". ....And screw the whole "dry heat" thing. Really just makes me feel worse - you can feel your skin crackle and age by the second.

Saul- spend a couple days in Houston (or even Dallas, to a lesser extent) in late July. You'll appreciate, at least a little, the "dry heat" theory.

I have been in those scenarios plenty of times. I actually prefer the humidity in that case - it least it doesn't feel like my face is about to peel off. THERE IS NOTHING WORSE THAN 120 - PERIOD. That being said, Texas still sucks. Just gimme the Pacific Coast and I don't have to worry about any of it.

Well as the saying goes, different strokes for different folks, I guess. When I was in Vegas last summer (the weekend we met, actually), it was like 116 when we landed. That was far better to me than some of the summer days I dealt with in Texas, even if it only got to 106-108 then. And the time I went to Houston... ugh... that was horrible. You could cut pieces out of the air it was so thick.

I'll take the clean air of Wisc land any day. I see CNN had to better Fox by one Bush at 32% there. CNBC he remains at 33%. Snow will save him. Maybe not seen some of the nasty stuff he said about Bush. Maybe Bush was smart enough to take one nay sayer off the street? Maybe someone was but?

"-When asked in an open-ended question which is the most important problem facing the country today, respondents to a recent CBS News poll named "economy/jobs" second after the Iraq war - and ahead of immigration, terrorism, and healthcare"

beginning to understand how some come to that conclusion--

Heres how NYT describes booming economy---Note the 1st paragraph--then what follows--

U.S. Economy Still Expanding at Rapid Pace
By DAVID LEONHARDT and VIKAS BAJAJ
Gas prices are rising, as are mortgage rates. House prices in many once-hot markets have started slipping. The American automobile industry shows no sign of recovery. And the paychecks of most workers have not even kept up with inflation over the last four years.

Yet the national economy continues to speed ahead, with families and businesses spending money at an impressive pace. Forecasters expect the Commerce Department to report this morning that the economy grew at a rate of around 5 percent in the first quarter, the biggest increase since 2003.
