American Idol TOP 3!

I thought Katharine's performance was much better than the judges gave her credit for. I did not think that Taylor pulled his song off and it was a great song (style/range) for him. Kellie was simply weak, again, and if she makes it another two weeks there can be no cred to this one. Elliott was terrific, again, Chris was really good. Chris is getting it done, week after week, and I don't think he will be topped unless Katharine has a big week head to head down at the finals.
I think Chris won the entire contest with his performance last night. We all know he is very good at what he does (remember Bo Bice from last year--makes him look like a total amateur), but the one knock on him has been that he always does the "hard rock" songs, and that he has a tendency to scream them a little bit. Not last night. Last night he proved he could do something else (yeah it was Bryan Adams, but it still qualified as a "love song"), and he proved he could do it extremely well. He has always had his fans. Last night I absolutely believe that he won over those people who had some reservations about him, as he showed them that he can actually SING. Of course the fact that the no one amongst the others really stands out, helps him as well.

much has been said about katherines performance. yeah she looked okay, but her ass is still huge. but the point is, she wasn't close to as good as whitney. people liked it because its a song they new and she sang it fine, but compare it to whitney and its not even a fraction of how powerful a singer whitney is. year after year, contestants sing songs from whitney, christina, and celine and they all don't even come close. not 3 girls you want to mess with. katherines performance was lame next to whitneys, but by itself wasn't bad.
paris just doesn't sing anything that anyone would ever buy. kelliie spends all her money on layers of makeup with a decent country voice and a below average voice in anything else.
taylor is different. but he's been playing back bars in the south for years. if he really really had it, he would have been discovered by now.
chris has it. everything he sings live has a studio sound to it. people claim hes a one trick pony, but who cares. is he ever gonna sing anything outside of alt. rock. he'll be great at it and will outsell anyone of this year doing his thing. its not like if taylor wins he's going to do a rock album and then a love song album and then a country album. people should be one tricks and thats what they do best. and hes performed better than average singing the lame themes they come up with every year. do you think he really wanted to sing bryan adams.
as far as elliot, he can sing, but would anybody ever buy an album from him. i mean what market does he cater too except blind 16 year old girls.
american idol in and of itself is so unfair its ridiculous. i know why its not one vote per household or phone because cingular sponsors the phone and gets rich off text messages. but the way its set up, idol is inherantly wrong. people should be voting who they want kicked off for starters. young kids vote 100s of times. whole geographic regions do as well. its pretty silly, but the machine that is american idol is as big a tv show that we have ever and probably will ever see in our lifetime. advertising budgets for the finale will come close to superbowl ads i heard on one article.
in a nutshell, a guy wins this thing. chris will be the most successful of any of them win or lose because he's the only one who can be signed right now and sell albums without winning and will be able to market to a specific market.
i think taylor and chris will be the finals with mcphee going out third, ellliot and kellie fourth and fifth in whatever order you want and say goodbye to paris.

not really. I understand that he is popular, but he has had a few weeks where he has been lousy (this week for example, and the week he did Crazy Little Thing Called Love). He seems to have limited vocal range (although he does a great Michael McDonald), and his moves (on the stage) are close to being spastic. In my opinion, he is likely to be the next one to go.3 Seconds said:
