YTD Nextel cup: +58.15 units

One early play for me:

Martin Truex +3000 1/2 unit

Value play there.

Don't care too much for betting plate races. Really not much strategy in these races. Practice dont mean shit, qualifying dont mean shit.

They are a blast to watch though.

Truex, DEI, Plate race. Michael Waltrips old race team. Waltrip was around +800 last year.

Decent value at 30-1

good luck on the qualy matchup.

I hope the wind doesnt blow for ya, if it does qualifying will be a total crapshoot. 10 mph gust can swing a lap time of a car running by itself 2 to 4 tenths either way.

thanks toast,

Your right about the wind,it can mess up a good lap.Wind is expected to be coming out of the east, south east at 10 or 12 mph.Which will be blowing directly towards turn two.If it was coming out the north or south it could be real problems with head winds.

I have to go against the history of Kurt`s car as it has qualified in every plate race last year. With Rusty behind the wheel he posted 36th,9th,20th and 41st.It just don`t seem to run good out there bye itself.McMurray ran this car at Daytona and qualified 7th.It`s the only match up that I seen that I liked and after capping these match ups for a few hours and I thought I would try to get something out of it. I see the line has moved to -140 at the greek, sia still has it at -110.

Media is blowing JR out of the water, driving the black 8. What are your thoughts? If any.

I like the play, Hopefully the wind will give him a little push.

There hyping Jr. cause this seems like the only chance he has a legitimate chance to win anymore. Yeah it is getting a little old.

You know what else I find interesting. There showing a lot more highlights and NASCAR stuff on sportscenter and ESPN news. All Because of the TV contract with ABC/ESPN for next year.

Harvick should be do for alittle off week. Not sure if JR is all together yet either. Tony is no dark horse but should be in the middle of it. If Numan can stay out of trouble he's a nice play on the odds. Do not forget Mayfield as long shot he's way over do.

matchups

matchups

stewart -115 over earnhardt jr. (best bet) or stewart over johnson
kurt busch -140 over newman

outright shots (playing top 3 at olympic as well):

kyle busch: 35/1
nemechek: 50/1
burton: 30/1

taking kyle not vickers as the hendrick guy, besides the obvious two, who may get the "team push" when it counts at the end. will he have the patience to be up close at the end? vickers... what is up with this kid??? hendrick everything and nothing to show for it accept a pole (was it two?). i like kyles aggression but, this is a patience track... rolling the dice.

nemechek... the veteran knows how these long races are to be run... calm, cool, confident. they are won within the last 10 laps. i hope he'll be there... he shares an engine program with "guess who" and he may be part of a nice push/pull at the end.

burton has the same symptons as front row... if harvick and/or bowyer are alive at the end - he may get there.

didnt like the stewart accident yesterday but, the guy looked to bounce out of it well. gibbs sure has the plate program rocking... hamlin at daytona earlier and j.j.'s qualifying here... hamlin pushes stewart here, not the other way around like daytona.

i like stewart to win but, i wont bet the price. the above matchup is my best bet. you can also find him vs. jimmy johnson -135 (approx.) at some sites.

lets hope we get this in... unfortunately, im employed and cant catch a delayed monday race. these superspeedways take years to dry.... do it under the lights if necessary!!!!!

im calling for the fans to bring lights! i thought i typed that in ; )

im also not buying anything RYR at the moment. i dont care about the size of the track, city or state. something is just not right with that program. yes, the qualifying was right on for both but, i expect that sadler will have had his most face time on trackside yesterday and jarrett's face time will come with the 4/5 UPS commercials shown. i wish i could find some "against bets" for these two.... similar to how sites offer "againsts" in F1. i.e., "prices to finish in the top 8 or outside the top 8".

speaking of F1, since were in the F1 forum... man, these tracks like Imola and Monace, for example, are just so damn boring... you get the pole and you might as well be given the win right there. its truly mechanical failure that will be your only downfall. i understand the limitations with road courses but, wouldnt it be nice to have a valid 3/4 passing spots on a circuit??? just ranting... thats another reason why motoGP is pretty exciting (3pm, central, on speed if 'dega is a wash). also, keeping with the forum topic, take the PHO game total over in the NBA. PHO is on a 0-7 game total under streak.
