Travelling with the office for a conference next weekend...

question I have is what are some good restaurants for dinner...our front-desk employee is a vegan, so unfortunately no steakhouses for the rest of us...

staying at the Hyatt Regency, so anything close to that would be a plus

please chime in with any suggestions

thanks

so because of her preference, the rest of you are penalized?? They have salads at steakhouses, don't they?

Ah ha! On your way to D-town.. You will not believe the women here.

There are lots of good things to do and places to go.. The Yankees are in town next weekend.. but if you plan on going i would recommend buying tickets now.

As far as food there is no shortage of restaurants here.. what type of place are you looking for???

At least one of the days I would tell he/she to get a garden salad from McDonald's and head to Fogo de Chao in Addison. I can't stress that enough.

I didn't look to see who started this thread when I opened it but swore someone was fixin' to ask how to get a local bookie in Big D. :mj07:

I always get a kick out of those requests. "Yeah sure, here's his number right here on the Internet for you".

Fogo is awesome! Just get to Addison and you cannot go wrong. Used to live there, more restaurants per capita than anyplace in US. When I left, 186 restaurants with a population of 11-12k. Also, great nightlife.

Anyplace in Addison or Uptown will be a bee hive of activity..

If you like Blondes with large fake breasts.. Try the Blue Fish in Addison..

Uptown the crowd is a bit older and wealthy beyond belief.. some nice places there too

Depends on how much dinero you want to spend. If it was up to me, I would go to Nick and Sams. It will leave a lasting impression on you and everyone that goes with you.

Fogo is unreal, but if you eat there get ready to stay up all night with what we refer to as the meat sweats.

My mom came in from Greensboro while some of her clients from Greensboro where here and we took them to Papas Bros steakhouse. That was a year ago and she said everytime they see her they talk about how awesome it was.

Bluefish is a great place and great atmosphere, sometimes the talent is great but I think it's getting a little overated.

JT Garcias is fantastic eating experience in Ft. Worth. Make sure you pack some currency because they don't take credit cards. No menus either; the night I was there it was fajitas or enhildas -- take your pick. But that's like saying "would you like Alba or Jolie?" -both tasty dishes.

Fogo has a great salad bar from what I have heard. We have done our Xmas dinner there, and my partner's girlfriend is vegetarian. I always considered the salad bar a rookie mistake at Fogo's, but it kept our company party there instead of some other place.

I'm with 6-5 also. One person being vegetarian dictates everyone's food choice? That is such bullshit!

Herrera's on Maple. IMO the best Mexican food in Big D, family-owned dive that's been around forever. A Dallas institution, the place was in National Geographic a few years back.

Obviously not the place if you're looking for a fancy evening dinner, but definitely should stop by while you're in town.
