"the bunker"
honestly,i thought that a&e`s version was every bit as good....like sex, maybe your spoiled after the first time...

was it a fair representation?.....who knows....those that really do are no longer on the green side of the grass...

the characters were torn with confusion, fear, doubt, uncertainty and finally, resolve......it was a very realistic movie and much better than the typical hollywood bilge.....

it seemed pretty straight forward...what i thought varied from a&e`s version was the emphasis on the air traffic control aspect through the first half of the film...very interesting...now i understand all the things i`ve read about the job...

even if you hate america...even if you are the most extreme conspiracy theorist/sitzpinkler......it`s a well made, dramatic movie likely to make you feel.....something...

btw...the "let`s roll" line that is so highly publicized will slip by you if you aren`t looking for it...it was said in conversation in a very low tone....nobody stood in the aisle and proclaimed "LET`S ROLL"....thankfully....

unfotunately, those that really need to see it most, probably won`t...

those that enjoy wearing"the sharia swimsuit",of course.......

""The "Sharia swimsuit" offers one solution. It is a high-necked, swimming costume with sleeves and a small skirt, to be worn over long trousers.

It first appeared a few years ago, but was expensive and hard to find.

This year, it is widely available - and comes in new cuts and colours.

In the past, conservative Muslim women have bathed fully clothed

A salesman at the Sports Mall in Nasr City shows me rails of the new Egyptian-produced swimsuits.

10 models are available but are they selling well?

"Of course they're selling well, very well," says the salesman.

"You know we're living here in an Islamic country, it must be popular."

However, the highest religious authority for Sunni Muslims, Al-Azhar, does not recognise the new swimming costume.

One of its clerics, Sheikh Mahmoud al-Hanafi, says there is no such thing as an Islamically-acceptable swimsuit - the only thing Sharia law recognises is Islamic dress that is meant to protect women from what he calls "gossiping eyes." ""

SPLASHING!!!!....WOO-HOO!!! dance1

watch those "gossiping eyes",bryanz....

"the bunker"
Way back in the time of the samurai, there was a powerful emperor. This emperor needed a new head samurai. So, he sent out a message to everybody he knew for them to send a message to who they knew, and so forth.

A year passes, and only three people show up: a Japanese samurai, a Chinese samurai, and a Jewish samurai. The emperor asks the Japanese samurai to come in and demonstrate why he should be head samurai. The Japanese samurai opens up a matchbox, and out pops a little fly. WHOOOOOSH. The fly drops dead on the ground in 2 pieces! The emperor says, "That is very impressive!"

Then the emperor asks the Chinese samurai to come in and demonstrate why he should be head samurai. The Chinese samurai opens up a matchbox and out pops a little fly. WHOOOOOOSH. WOOOOOOOSH. The fly drops dead on the ground in 4 pieces! The emperor says, "That is really impressive!"

Then the emperor asks the Jewish samurai to come in and demonstrate why he should be head samurai. The Jewish samurai thinks, "If it works for the other two..." So the Jewish samurai walks in, opens a matchbox, and out pops a little fly. WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSHHHH. A gust of wind fills the room, but the fly is still buzzing around. The emperor says in disappointment, "Why is the fly not dead?"

And the Jewish samurai replies, "If you look closely, you'll see that the fly has been circumcised."

I saw it this afternoon. All I can say is.....wow. GW summed it up pretty well and I don't want to write a book, but I highly recommend it. If it doesn't get to you in any way(s), you should check yourself for a pulse.

There is obviously adequate interest, at least here. There were maybe 25 empty seats in a theater of about 150. This was at a noon showing on a sunday with absolutely perfect weather here.

On a side note, the baby crying sporadically was kind of puzzling. Who the hell brings a baby to United 93?

Dead silence as people were filing out. Not one word, but plenty of sniffling.

I'm not sure if this is a movie that one could describe a 'enjoyable', in the same vein that Schindlers List and Hotel Rwanda weren't 'enjoyable', but all three are definite must-see great movies.

gw, actually I think the term " LET'S ROLL" played a larger role in real life. I read somewhere I believe it is the glick Family that has gone ahead and trademark ed the phrase, to raise funds for the children whose parents perished in the accident. As such greengrass decided to leave that phrase to its current cause, not the cry of the movie.

So so fights at Foxwoods last night, --- nothing fantastic.

when i said ,"those that really need to see it most, probably won`t"...i was referring to those that believe that the plane was shot down by some "shady rovian automatons"...the same ones that believe that the government was behind 9/11 and that the jews stayed home....

the crew that believes the mossad bombed the resorts in egypt...even after terrorists claimed credit...

thwe ones that describe bin laden as a "dissident"...

you know..the ones that wear "patchouli"....
