I look at there team.....Bibby, Bonzi,Abdul-Rahim, Artest, Miller, Thomas, etc etc.........and I think they have some some pretty good talent........much better than their current odds of 38-1 suggest.(to win west).......tough getting through SA first round but SA has not looked to impressive the last month and Duncan may be hurt.........

I think they match up pretty well with everyone in the west....why would they fear Phoe, Denver, Lakers, Clips, Mavs, Grizz, Lakers........except maybe SA but why not play the best right off the bat......

Maybe I am just projecting where these guys would be with Artest through the whole year, much better than the 8th seed........

Not to many teams can put a guy like Artest on the other teams best scorer and play 4 on 4 the rest of the game...........

If Sacto can steal gm 1 or 2 it will be a great series and they won the last game vs SA by 10 a few weeks ago so they know they can win on the road......

Any thoughts........

it is hard to deny that the kings have the talent to make a run in the postseason. They have to be one of the scarier 8th seeds in a while. I just question what tim duncan will be able to do with his plantar faciatis. unquestionably, the experience is with the spurs, but who is the big gun that bruce bowen will be assigned to shut down? the kings are a balanced team with a good bench, experienced point guard and coach. the odds have changed but I did put a little on the kings at +1000 odds to beat the spurs in the 1st round. so I agree with you, maybe not to win the west, but to at least give the spurs all they can handle! :SIB

I don`t know if the Kings can get by the Spurs...But i do believe that it won`t be the Spurs representing the west this year. They should get knocked off.

You're kidding right... They HAVE ZERO chance...

Is that "0" or zero chance????

Watching 4 games so far and I dont see many times when the Kings have just as much talent on the floor.

Dont know what happened that first game but it has been a series the last 3.

Should be a great few games.................

I agree with Destructor.

Kings get by the Spurs, and they will win the west.

The mavs are not that good, and neither are the Lakers.

Problem is.............I don't think they get by the Spurs.

Winning a game in San Antonio is going to be very difficult.

I think in the next game we will all see why the Spurs are the champs.

This next game won't be as bad a game 1, but they should win by about 10 points or more.

If the Mavs sweep Memphis tonight, which they should, then I don't think Sacramento can beat Dallas, assuming the Kings get by San Antonio. Dallas would be well-rested, and you gotta' figure an extended series with the Spurs would be mentally and physically grueling on the Kings. I love the way Sacramento is playing right now, and I do think they have an excellent chance of upsetting the Spurs. San Antonio has looked really slow and old in this series. Dallas is a deeper team than Sacramento, and rest would only add to that advantage.

mav, i dont know if you took sac or not, but what about a hedge on spurs to win in 7? Sac is clearly the better team in last 3 games ... and getting 9 seems like nice deal unless spurs actually have another gear ... artest is a rodman, unreal value as a versatile winner (altho knucklehead) and he has turned that team into legit threat ... since he joined they give up 6 less ppg, thats fairly amazing stat

Didn't the Kings almost win one in San Antonio if not for a miracle three pointer at the end of the game? I have Kings +800 for a good chunk to win the series against the Spurs and those friends that were laughing at me after Game One are looking at the odds now :D
