Pistons Team Total Over 95
I like the Pistons to bounce back tonight against the Cavaliers, after their poor showing in the fourth quarter of game 2 allowed the Cavs to build some false hope. (Although, in reality can you even bounce back from a win :shrug
. The Pistons finished with a 97-91 victory after having led by 18 at the end of three. They became complacent in the 4th qtr, settling for jumpers instead of driving the lane like they had succesfully been doing all game. They shot just 25% in the fourth and allowed the Cavs to outscore them 31-16.
The Pistons easily would have broke the century mark ,which would have been the fifth straight game they did so, had they showed a little better judgement in their shot selection. The Pistons had 81 points at the end of the 3rd qtr on Wed. and have been averaging 109 pp/g over their L5. The Pistons have scored at least 97 points in 6 of 7 playoff games this year,with 92 in gm 1 against Milwaukee being the lone exception. As I said before, these Pistons are winning with offense and they should have no trouble putting about 100 on a Cavaliers team that is allowing them to shoot 47% thus far in the series, and who has given up an average of 109.7 pp/g in the L5.
The Cavs know they are not going to win a low tempo game against Detroit because the Pistons will get the necessary stops to win a close, low-scoring game. Their only hope for a win in this series is to try and outscore the Pistons in a game in which both teams are above 100 points. Look for both teams to come out looking to light up the scoreboard.
