COLORADO (Francis) +130 over HOUSTON (Pettitte)
Surprising as it may be, the Rockies and the Astros have
identical records right now, and considering how today's
two starting pitchers have performed so far in 2006, we'll
look for Colorado to end the week on top. Lefty Jeff Francis
checks in in with a 3.16 ERA after seven starts, and this
from a pitcher who started four of those games at Coors
Field. Andy Pettitte, on the other hand, has been dreadful
thus far (-$620, 5.67 ERA after eight starts) and could have
his hands full with a team that is 3-0 (+$305) vs. southpaws,
averaging 5.3 runs per game in those contests. Under the
circumstances, it's hard to pass up the stronger pitcher at
a generous underdog price.
