Is there a shadier politician than Newt Gingrich?

I just listened to the 5/14 Meet the Press podcast where Mr. Gingrich was the featured guest. The guy is clearly a very charismatic politician, but how can people not see through his bullsh*t? He is full of thinly outlined populist rhetoric with little basis in practicality. To hear him talk about immigration, Iran or political ethics, I can see how people can get wrapped up in thinking that this guy has all the answers. Once I take thirty seconds and actually think about the reality of what he was saying, then I realize how full of crap he is.

You know, anything can happen in the U.S.A. so I suppose it is possible that he could win when (not if) he runs in 2008. But I gotta tell ya, I'd even vote for Bush over this guy if given the choice.

Perhaps he took a few pages out of the Kennedy handbook?

"the bunker"
very strange...gingrich more than held his water with russert....

while last week, russert tore "stretch" pelosi a new one...he embarrassed her....i was embarrassed for her...

when a republican holds his own in a debate,it`s clearly transparent b.s...

when a pelosi gets embarrassed....silence...

maybe it`s the fact that, like them or not, guy`s like gingrich actually believes in something more than which way the political wind is blowing or the latest poll.......

pelosi couldn`t even answer one direct question...

bush is vulnerable.....the power is there for you guys to grab...

put somebody out front that at least acts like a leader...

seriously... throw biden out there..he can talk....or hillary...at least she has an edge...and can debate a little...

pelosi as speaker of the house?.....conyers as head of the judiciary committee?...i think even you guys cringe at the thought...

Newt is one of the sharpest guys out there and a TRUE conservative unlike the garbage we have in there now

Also a great historian

Would love to see him in the White House

obviously, though he is shadier than the Kennedy's/Clintonistas
