Okay. Stop laughing.

I'm not completely serious, but I don't think I'm totally nuts, either. Pending the outcome of today's game, they might just sweep the Phillies.

Coming in, the story was, "Philly is the hottest team in the league right now........"

This got me to thinking that Brewer fans have heard that phrase used quite often this season, in talking about whomever they were about to play!

Their schedule has had them facing whomever was currently "on fire" in the league, all season long! (To be slightly above .500, might be vastly under estimating their ability right now.)

I'm not going to do the homework, but if any of you "stat geeks" wish to check and see, I'm pretty sure the streaks that most of the teams Milwaukee has faced this season, have been pretty good leading up to their meetings. (For the most part)

If Milwaukee can start taking full advantage of their potential, we could see some 8 for 10 game win streaks very soon, IMO, and that means $$$$ opportunities!

I'm not so sure

I'm not so sure

I'd love to see that, being from Milwaukee and all, but...

It was pretty obvious that Philly had no interest in wiinning today.... not playing Rollins (after losing 2 straight) and starting a SS that was hitting BELOW .100..... I know they have a phrase called the "Mendoza" line for under .200 - I guess they never thought they'd have to have a "You suck" line for a guy hitting under .100. He killed them with a big DP in the middle of the game with the bases loaded.

If the Phillies really wanted the game, Rollins would have played. And certainly they would not have brought Madson into the game. That is not much different than having a postion player pitch.

Sour grapes - maybe, as I lost a lot of $$$ on this game, after seemingly having the game in the 7th. But as we've seen, a 3 run lead late really doesn't mean much anymore in baseball (especially with bums like Ryan Madson in the league).

Hopefully you are on to something with the Crew - but today doesn't tell us much given the Phillies really didn't care if they won or not.

I would have thought they'd put their best players in and best effort today to keep from being swept...

JMHO.

Ya...that just baffles me. How can you not care to win a game in that situation? I do agree their are some times where managers can risk losing a game, but in this case losing the first two games and in a tight division race doesn't make any sense to me. Mets lost today, so they could of gained a game.

Rollins has had 3 hits in his last 30 ABs. I don't think he was sorely missed out there today. Maybe he sat, because the coach was trying to win? Or, maybe he felt he could get away with benching him, and sending a message, and still pull out a win against Eveland? Maybe he rests him in day games? I don't know....

At any rate, to think they were not trying to win, is pretty weak. Even if that was the case, it has no merrit to what I am trying to bring to the table.

Sorry you took one on the chin today. Maybe if this pans out, we can get some back.

WHOA!

WHOA!

Rollins had 4 hits in his last 28 (not counting today, of course)...... much better than 3 of 30.. :grins:

Actually Gonzalez (his replacement) was 3-31 coming in - with 0 HR's and 1 RBI.... just a bitter pill as Gonzalez left 6 guys on - incliuding the big double play ball...

I don't know if this is as much a play on the Brewers going forward or against the Phillies.

I gotta think their manager is one of the worst in baseball.... to bring in Madson - who screwed up Hammels first win by coming in and immediately giving up 2 HR's to erase Hammels 2-0 lead he had given him. I'm sure ole' Cole is not very friendly with Mr. Madson these days. That's 2 wins in his first 2 appearances that Madson took about 3 batters to F** up in both games!

I just can't believe the manager would bring him in and do it to Hamels again.....

Just an all out, non winning effort. I'm thinking they just wanted to get out of town quickly and really didn't care if they won.

I just wish I would have known that was their attitude coming into the game. I guess that is part of handicapping - but I thought this early in the season teams still cared. Maybe not???

Now, it just seems to me that they look like a team treading water, but I think that's FAR from the case!

They are getting a very suspect looking Twins team coming to town this weekend, and the lines will be hefty, but I think the Brewers will be a good bet all weekend long.

Tomorrow's game looks like it gives us no value.

The price is about -160, and that's just not worth it, IMO. You could risk the run line against this weak Minnesota team, but I think the best play is no play.
