The Judge said:
I am not a fan of Barry Bonds for several obvious reasons but to say that his steroid use has been the sole reason that he has been such a dominant hitter is foolish. Steroids do not improve a person's hand-to-eye coordination and throughout his career, Bonds has seen the ball better than most who have played the game.
Certainly, steroid use will increase a hitters strength and many of Bonds' homeruns have to be attributed to this but the fact remains, the cat can hit.
i agree somewhat, judge....
i think without the steroids he would be a very good ballplayer....
although the steroids did not affect his hand/eye coordination it has made his numbers higher than they would have been without the steroids....
a groundball that he hits goes faster with the roids becomes a base hit & instead of a possible defensive play it... that adds to his average...
i have seen him swing late on a few occasions & those fly balls to left field became homers instead of outs.....
samething with balls he hit into the gaps.....instead of outs they became doubles or homers.....
he also has defied logic & has become very productive in the latter part of his career....
no...barry bonds is a cheater (of course he's not the only one)....& baseball has become a sham.....
and to use the excuse that others have done is very poor......will anybody accept that reason when your kid is caught cheating in school because your kid will say that others were doing it....
shame on bud selig & the players union for not doing anything abou it.....it's a joke !!!
