Figured I would start this up today, didn't mean to step on your feet Wise. Let's see if we can all get some nice winners tonight, here are the ideas that are swirling through my head:
First off the marque match-up of the night, Yanks vs. Red Sox. Normally the dog has a really good shot when these teams get together but I gotta think Schilling takes care of business catching the Yanks off the Sunday Nighter...anybody know what the records are of teams that play after that game?
Cincy at home with Arroyo off two straight losses, I think he get's it done as pitchers records have a way of leveling themselves off and I am not in a rush to back Bush on the road.
Cards at Giants, already used St. Louis in a small par but think I may have fallen for the bait here, small line, Mulder hasn't pitched on the road much this year and last year I believe he had a high road ERA, kind of like the over in this one.
A's at White Sox, seems to me the A's are the public dog of the night but in my eyes the pitching match-up is about even and I like the White Sox off a loss with Frank coming to town, he left on a sour note. Also everyone keeps saying the White Sox can't hit lefties but the A's can't hit period, like the under here but I am horrible at totals.
Pit at Zona, used the Buttpirates in that small par as I think they have some bats that can get to El Duque and his high home ERA with high opponents BA. This one could get ugly quickas Perez is approaching a DD ERA also.
Atlanta at San Diego, tough one IMO but the home team get's the nod here as the Braves haven't been impressive away from Turner and Peavy has revenge on the mind after getting shut out by Smoltz, could it be another 2-0 game with Peavy coming out on top this time?
Rocks at Dodgers, when I watch Seo pitch it's like he could care less, just doesn't seem to be interested anymore whereas Kim seems at least to be grateful he has a job...but the Dodgers are turning out to be the team I thought they were before the season started...tough one IMO.
Last abbreviated thoughts:
Moyer can be tough at home and owns Baltimore.
The Tigers are laying to much road chalk for me to be interested and I have never bet on KC.
Escobar tough on road but these teams are going in different directions, but as Ray pointed out maybe Loe is this years Young for the Rangers.
Could care less about the garbage games at Dolphin Stadium and RFK.
Interested to hear anyone elses thoughts about tonights games....
