doing the unthinkable on thursday afternoon. going to play the kansas city royals both on the moneyline and the alternate runline. have played these misfits one other time this year about a month ago against cleveland and they responded with an 11-5 win. purely speculating here, but theres a reasonable chance pudge's bat will be out of the lineup for detroit if he gets the catcher's customary rest when playing a day game after a night game. but i guess the main reasoning is that i still have to laugh when i see detroit as a 200+ road chalk. the royals are a AAA team but the only detroit pitcher id consider laying this price with is bonderman (and down the road, perhaps verlander). bautista has pitched well considerably better at home this year, and against some very potent lineups (st.louis, cleveland, chicago).
just asking him to keep me in the game and give me a chance.

kansas city (+217)
kansas city (-1.5) (+379)

if the royals lose 11-2, i'll be the first one to bump the thread and laugh at the donation.

What's the longest streak or average losing streak a team can go Gman? I was considering doing a chase bet starting from this point on KC, which probably isn't too smart, but I think they are due to pull an upset soon.

You have my juices flowing about KC now gman, I like their chances, I was thinking if they are gonna win one in this series it would be with Bautista at home and Maroth on the road. Tough spot for DET with it being getaway day and all....

Royals lost 19 in a row last year, MLB record is 21 by the 1988 Orioles.

Royals have no bullpen, doesn't much matter who starts. As far as Bautista, he may be suspect today coming off pictorial problems and have 100 pitch count last time out.

Agree though, if you feel a need to play the Royals, as good a time as any before their 9 game road trip to NYY/OAK/SEA.

Wow, someone HAD to bring up the streak from last year!!! I chased them starting with loss #11 and said enough was enough by loss #18, one or two games before they pulled off a win. I could have sworn the streak was more like 21 last year and was only off of the Orioles streak of 24 by 2 or 3, but nonetheless, they were bad and still are. I actually had the Royals today myself. Up 7-5 at the end of the 4th.

Pudge did play and hit a big big HR for Det. You can wait till the lineups come out before making a play ya know...

tough break but they gotta end this streak one day dont they?

In NY for the weekend...probably be a nice play every day at least +250 or so....

personally, I dont want my cash anywhere near this team. Anyone hear Elarton's comments? "We are awful in every facet of the game...etc". Bad news bears...

First can't blame you for not wanting to play them.

Second, though they are pretty much a terrible all around team, their pitching has to take the cake for being the worst part of the club. Right now the Royals staff is being prescribed as the best fix for being in a hitting slump.

I sat right behind the plate for this debacle. This team wil find a way to lose even when it seems impossible. I expect this 10 game road trip coming up will be an O'fer. I would just play against them on the run line every game. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse....yesterday was a new franchise low, but this streak is going to 23 games- you heard it here first 23 straight.
