Need some help finding a plasma TV... I have no clue what is good and bad as far as specs are concerned.. the best i can do is just go to the store and compare by picture quality..

This Samsung seemed to have the best picture of any other i have seen...

Samsung HPS-4253

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Sams...49269/catOid/-12869/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

I couldnt believe how terrific the picture was..
But i always thought Samsung was kind of a second rate brand..?? Any advice

Looking to spend anywhere from 2 to 3 thousand

thanks

Distance from Dallas. (I know Dallas is huge, just didn't know if any of these are fairly close).

Makes for a fun Sunday drive. Ask the major's guys there. They can answer all your questions.

Great return policy!!! NO MAINTANANCE AGREEMENT NEEDED!!!!!!! (Donna's brother just bought a HDTV/LCD at Best Buy and paid over $300 for the service agreement. IDIOT!!!!!!!

ps: There are 2 TV's in the 1st book. Both are LCD/HDTV's. No Plasmas in Book #1.

I just bought a 50" LG from Best Buy. It is last years model, this years has speakers on the bottom of the t.v.

Last years has speakers on the side. I put in a home theatre system, so I'm not using the speakers anyway

One great thing about the LG, beside the quality, is the 'white wash' feature.

If you every experince 'burn in' you can set to inverison for 20 min, then white wash for 20 min and this will clear the screen.

HD looks great and have been very happy with it. On clearance it was $2499.00

Here's a good game plan that I would use:

Buy your next Plasma/LCD/Dlp from Costco keep it for a year and then take it back and get the newer model. Do this until they change the return policy. I'm on my 4th digital camera and 3rd TV.

In termss of best picture, nothing comes close to the old fashion CRT's, but they are old, bulky and heavy,,,, but best picture out there.
Now remember, we all have different, needs, issue, room sizes, angles, etc etc BUT, if I were to buy a plasma today I would go with:
PLASMA>>> Pioneer PDP-5060HD
LCD>>> Sony Bravia KDL-V40XBR1
HDTV>>> Sony KDS-R60XBR1
DLP>> the new 60 inch by samsung, on my wishlist
