After many, and I mean many years of playing, the day has finally come that I have to say to myself "it's time" to call it a day. I've been contemplating this for along time as I no longer, and haven't for quite awhile had/have the desire to continue. Whether I won or lost before I still put in the time and capped games one way or the other. I now take shortcuts and there's many ways of doing that. The thrill is gone and when I start getting caught between the switches, taking fav's, (something I very rarely do, Detroit and Cincy at that, well that's it). To add further BS, I had decided to play whatever Ronnie posted today, waited for Ronnie's plays ( :thumb:'s Ronnie, one of the shortcuts) but have just found out I went and took the opposite.....

My daughter and son-in-law have their house up for sale and had asked me if I'd go with them to see a house they're thinking of buying.....I was in a rush and put in the wrong play.....that's the way it goes when it's going bad. It's OK, as it's just the icing on the cake for a cake that should have been eaten along time ago. Didn't end up going to see the house either....
A few years back a friend who owns a boxing club had asked if I'd help out with some of the kid's he has going there. I did for a few nights but seeing that I'd didn't want to commit to any schedule I stopped as I didn't want to break some kid's spirit by not showing up. I always have that in my mind as something to do and I think I'll get on it.

Good Luck to all you guys/gals at this great site......Like a family here so I'll be looking in, but not playing :nono: I'm done

Jake my friend....

Wishing you all the best. In the two years we've shared thoughts in the forums I've always considered you one of MJ's finest. Your keen insight, kind words, and positive outlook will be truly missed. Take care :sadwave:

It's always sad to see a fellow "family member" throw up his hands in disgust. I trust you've thought this through and your decision is final.

I remember when Jake passed on, how you posted with tears in your eyes and found several MJ "family members" empathizing with you and your plight. Yes, you could call this motley bunch a family. We stick together, help with advice, ideas, relocation, etc. If you need anything....ask. Help is only a few keystrokes away.

I'm not sure exactly what caused this proclamation, but please re-read the last line of your signature.

Stop by occasionally to keep us posted.... :sadwave:
