Pettite has been pitching like shit and lasted just three innings at Washington Thursday, giving up seven ER on eight hits, striking out one in his sixth loss of the year. In his last two starts, he has given up 20 hits, 12 ER and five walks, striking out nine in nine total innings pitched.

I like my chances with the best team in the NL against a slumping Astros squad.

That was easily the worst move I have ever seen LaRussa make. Reyes was pitching a freaking gem through six and Tony then brings in Hancock who promptly gave up five runs.
