haven't posted in a while. been too busy with my yachting and chess service. had to re-order the toasters and pattern mappers as sign on bonuses. unfortunately for those that haven't gotten theirs yet, they are on the way. unfortunately i can only give out the single slice toaster and not the dual. it does have a bagel option though.
i'm hesitant to post because i'm still in shock that emirates team new zealand is still a dog to bmw oracle racing after our syndicate laid heavy on the zealanders, but such is life.
not the right forum, but since jack and i.e. have been sitting on their ass for the last month about my request for a chess forum, i thought i'd post it here. get down early on peter leko of hungary against mikhail gurevich of turkey in the world championship. sure -710 seems steep, but my associates who have been tracking their play and boxscores of warm up matches concur that this is a no brainer. mikhail just doesn't have the game to compete. and this truly is inside information that he has been sleeping with multiple hookers in the turkish red light district instead of concentrating on his moves.
on to more prominent sports that you americans enjoy. i took enough heat for american idol, not sure why, it all pays the same.
chris sampson makes his first major league start. impressive triple a numbers going 7-1 with a 2.64 era. hes got 35 k's in 61 innings and good control with only 5 walks. he pitched 5+ innings allowing 3 earned in relief of wandy rodriguez. he's gonna nible at the strike zone with average stuff, but he's not gonna shut anyone out. cubs will get at least 3 or 4. he will be pumped and should either miss his zone or overthrow with the excitement of first start. he's a journeyman who came up as a shortstop, couldn't hit, and then managed high school baseball until he found out he could throw. again, nice story, but reality will set in. he's just gonna be an average pitcher, and 3 or 4 from the cubs won't be difficult. they are averaging over 4 vs. rh starters and over 5 their last 7 games.
marshall is kind of an enigma. besides his last strong outing against a depleted st. l squad, he's been getting killed on the road. houston is averaging over 6 against lefties their last 7.
neither bullpen is particulary strong. houstons bullpen era is over 5 at home. 2 under games to start the series. if you believe in tv sides, some know what i'm talking about, the espn game last night went under. not much help with the ump, but not terrible either.
CUBS/STROS OVER 9 -126 x 5. played overnight and i always buy down the hook or up on 9's and 7's. just my preference.

in honor of sir gagne, back to the old avatar for the greatest reliever who ever lived. anyone who watched him pitch the 9th last night knows how stupid he made the mets hitters look with that change. velocity is off a little, but that change is still deadly.
