Actually, more like two questions...

1) Why is this guy in the big leagues? and...

2) WHY ON EARTH is he hitting in the leadoff spot? I've been wondering this all year long. I seriously think there are pitchers who hit better than this stiff.

LOL

I have asked myself the same two questions about McLouth numerous times this season. There is a guy worse than McLouth though, his last name is Ardoin, and he plays for Colorado. Ardoin might possibly be the worst hitter I have ever seen in the big leagues!

I'll have to keep my eye out for Ardoin. McLouth actually managed to go 1-5 tonight. I imagine he will go hitless for the next week after banging one out tonight :mj07: Oh, and how bad is this... the other CF, Chris Duffy, was sent down to AAA not long ago. I'm beginning to think I must be better than him.

Being from Pgh, Pa, it drives me nuts to see this kid playing. He had a great spring training and that is why he made the team.

Speaking of Duffy, he was brilliant when he got called up last year. He was hitting and making unreal catches. Then the new coaching staff came in and screw w/ him. He was visible not the same player from year. I hope he can get his shit together b/c he could be a good player!

Gotcha Lee. I don't know anything about Duffy and I don't get to watch many Pirates games but whenever I see that McLouth guy he just looks like he doesn't belong in the big leagues. Can't complain too much about them though, they won for me tonight!

it's danny ardoin, and yes, he may have the longest, slowest swing that mlb has ever seen. he has a big arm though, that is what keeps him around.

Guys, another Pittsburgher that suffers through this kid every night. No reason for him to be here, just think management is trying to give him every chance. he had a tremendous spring and last sept he hit for some power. other than that, they have egg on their face for the treatment of duffy. Chris Duffy really looked like the real deal last year but Jim Tracy tried to make him a slap hitter and go the other way and it royally f'd him up mentally and physically. He just now accepted his assignemnt to the minors.

There is only one hope on the current roster, Jose Bautista. Originally he was thought of as the future at third base, but Bill Virdin (Former bucco great and spring training instructor) made the comment that Bautista has the best read on the ball of anyone in the organization. However, everyone is keeping the position warm for the next 1 1/2 seasons until Andrew McCutcheon can take over centerfield. He is a LAstings Milledge clone who is in his first season of A ball. This kid was the bucco's first round selection last year.

Until that time....either duffy really pans out, or there is going to be a huge lull at the top of the pirate order and in center field.
