WHITESOX OVER 10 RUNS
Orioles and the White Sox to go OVER the posted total. There will be runs galore this afternoon at U.S. Cellular Field and this one will top the posted price.
Despite being bottled up Monday, the Sox have gone over in five of their last seven at home. Still, the defending world champs have dropped two straight and they'll be eager to break out the lumber against Rodrigo Lopez (5.91 road ERA), who gave up six earned runs in 3 2/3 innings in his most recent road start at Toronto.
Chicago is batting .311 in its last seven games and .288 versus righty starters this year. The Sox will hit Rodrigo hard. But Baltimore, which is batting .320 in its last seven contests, will score its share, too. The O's hit righties hard (.289) and have gone over in five of their last eight overall.
Chicago's Jose Contreras has been off of late. He's allowed 15 earned runs in his last three starts, each of which has gone over. Last year in two starts versus Baltimore, Contreras was racked up for 10 earned runs in just 12 1/3 innings of work.
In his most recent start against Chicago last July, Lopez was roughed up for eight earned runs in an inning and a third of work. Ouch! There will be plenty of runs in this one and it will go over!!
