The only way that they win is if they continue to be the most exagerated flopping team in history. There are two teams that I despise for their flopping prowess (and I despise the governing body for not doing something about it). Those two teams are Italy and Portugal, and I almost had to sit through a final of the two. These two teams have been on my list for sometime now, and did nothing but fortify my opinion of them throughout this world cup.

Good luck to you, but I think France is the more talented of the two teams. I think it is obvious at this point that the Italians are virtually impossible to score against. Zidane and Henry have their work cut out for them, no doubt.

Disagree. Both very talented all over the field but Italy has the big edge at two positions - Goal Keeper and Coach. That should be the difference.

After posting this, I think I took my blinders off a little. You can never bet against a goalkeeper, and as stated in my previous post Italy has the best right now.

I think if you go postion for position, though, France would get the edge more often.

That doesn't ease my loathing for them, though.

We are going crazy down here in Maryland with my Italian contigent, we will be partying on Sunday at my restaurant. My pop just left for Berlin, he is meeting up with some buddies to go to the game. I was on St. Clair in 1994 when they won in the semis to meet Brazil in Pasadena and what a party.....bring the digital and be sure to hook us up with photos.

Should be a great game and France will definitely be a challenge. I side with the Italians mainly because it would be unfair to see Barthez win a second World Cup!!!!!!!

As for diving, I love how people say the Italians and Portuguese are the main culprits!!! LOL.....Did you not see Henry vs. Spain and then again Portugal???? Other divers include Ballack, Kaka, Nedved, Robben, etc.

They all do it....it is an epidemic that needs to be dealt with by FIFA. I suggest reviewing slow-mo replays following games and suspending players for a minimum of 3 matches. Then you would see how quickly they stop flopping around.
