Let me first throw out the disclaimer that I've been getting absolutely killed with my baseball picks this year. Some of it has been bad luck, some of it has simply been bad calls on my part. Therefore, you may want to tread lightly if at all. Anyway, on to the pick...
Red Sox -1.5 (-135)
I've never been a huge fan of Wakefield and I don't like laying this much juice on the runline, but the guy has pretty good numbers against the Royals. The only guys that really seem to hit Wakes well are Berroa and Stairs. I also love the fact that the Yanks are now nipping at Boston's heels so that may be a bit of a wakeup call for the Sox. After yesterday's shellacking at the hands of the A's I really like Boston's hitters to show up against a young, very unproven pitcher in Hudson. Better yet, Hudson has primarily been a reliever and to my knowledge he only has one start this year. I really feel like he's getting thrown into the fire tomorrow at Fenway. If the Sox hitters decide to show up I think it could be a long day for the Royals. Besides, the Royals won yesterday so they're due for 3 or 4 straight losses now, right? :mj07:
Good luck to all in this wacky baseball season.
