Let me first throw out the disclaimer that I've been getting absolutely killed with my baseball picks this year. Some of it has been bad luck, some of it has simply been bad calls on my part. Therefore, you may want to tread lightly if at all. Anyway, on to the pick...

Red Sox -1.5 (-135)

I've never been a huge fan of Wakefield and I don't like laying this much juice on the runline, but the guy has pretty good numbers against the Royals. The only guys that really seem to hit Wakes well are Berroa and Stairs. I also love the fact that the Yanks are now nipping at Boston's heels so that may be a bit of a wakeup call for the Sox. After yesterday's shellacking at the hands of the A's I really like Boston's hitters to show up against a young, very unproven pitcher in Hudson. Better yet, Hudson has primarily been a reliever and to my knowledge he only has one start this year. I really feel like he's getting thrown into the fire tomorrow at Fenway. If the Sox hitters decide to show up I think it could be a long day for the Royals. Besides, the Royals won yesterday so they're due for 3 or 4 straight losses now, right? :mj07:

Good luck to all in this wacky baseball season.

I can't believe a knuckle ball pitcher like Wakerfield is -300? I already took KC +250 for 4*... a lot of value with this play... hopefully if the Royals lose, it's by 2 or more.

Of course Wakes is getting bombed by a AAA team, of course he is. I suppose I should have known that Hudson would outpitch Wakefield. There I go being silly and using logic again. Sheesh... I give up.

Nice call Destructor. I certainly didn't see this coming. Really not sure what to think of Boston this year...

Game is a long way from over GlennQuagmire. The Royals blowpen can still give up numerous runs and Hudson is about ready to get pulled as he's thrown too many pitches. I hope KC holds on for the win, but it's definately not over yet.

Well I need them to score 6 runs and not give up a single run in the next 3 innings. :mj07: And as if that isn't enough, it seems pretty apparent this is one of those instances where the Sox just decided to take the night off. Who knows, maybe they thought they could just show up and win since KC is so bad? At any rate, nice call if it holds up. That's a helluva payout on your money.

Peralta just came into the game and crushed the hopes of Royals backers... Now I can almost guarantee the Red Sox win by 1 run and we both lose... F*CK!

Sorry Destructor, I honestly didn't think the Sox had a chance of coming back and winning that. Awful nice of them to only score 1 in the 8th for me when they had a chance to break it open. I'm stunned that Trot Nixon is hitting .300. I had no idea. He's always been one of my least favorite players. The guy is brutal.
