Bedard misses start with food poisoning
July 21, 2006
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- Baltimore Orioles left-hander Erik Bedard missed his scheduled start Friday night against Tampa Bay because of food poisoning.
Russ Ortiz replaced Bedard, who has won six consecutive starts and is 11-6 with a 4.02 ERA overall this season.
Orioles manager Sam Perlozzo is hopeful Bedard will be able to start Sunday's game with the Devil Rays. Sunday's scheduled starter, Adam Loewen, will be pushed back to Wednesday if Bedard makes the start.
