The one thing i would never do again is let the person pick up car at your residence or place of buisness/work this also goes for selling thru auto trader. its along story but i picked up guy at airport brought him to my house he took car back to sacramento drove all night called me about seven in the morning said car drove fine but a rear speaker was not working and headliner had a tear he called me everyname in the book was going to report me to his cop friends and come back down and shoot me. Needless to say i was a liitle nervous i sent he 300 to make him happy and never heard from him again. When i first picked him up from airport i had a felling he was on some kind of drug he never sttopped talking and was pacing in my house the whole time. by the way the car was a 90s acura legend that sold for 4500

Taximike said:Also i was uninterested in bidding on auctions with no reserve. If you won't take less than a certain price, then list it for that price; don't reserve it.
SixFive said:my brother has. Take tons of pictures of the car (like 20 or so). Be very descriptive in your add, especially mentioning what might be wrong with the car. If you want it to sell, pay the extra 20 bucks to make it a feature auction, start the price at 99 cents and put no reserve on it. List it for 7 days. Have confidence in ebay, and don't worry about it not bringing enough money. Starting it low and putting it with no reserve gets the interest piqued for lots of people who will bid against each other and get the price elevated. Bidders are automatically turned off if your starting price is high and if you have a reserve. NR (NO RESERVE) really grabs their attention. GL!
Also, start your auction on a Saturday or Sunday evening so it will end at the same time 1 week later. Having it end at a high usage time really helps.

kneifl said:Al, you would be surprised how many people buy cars over the net. You would usually call the seller and make sure that it's okay, running well, and that you could test drive it before purchasing it like most people do. I'm not the only person that I know that has done this either - my boss at work has, and I have several friends that have done so as well.
