The only websites that I have participated in a private league on are Yahoo and CBS. Between these two CBS has always been the superior site for news, features, trades, etc.

We are looking to get our leagure going again this year and wanted anyone's feedback on what sites to use. I think we have paid in the $150 range each season so far for the application/access and would like to stay at or below that range this year as well.

I would appreciate anyone's feedback on this.

If there are other threads about this (I am surprised I haven't seen any), please feel free to call me a jackass and post the link.

Been using this site for for the last few years. myfantasyleague.com, I have not found a site that is even close to compare. I am not sure to what the cost is, due to that my buddies company is the web host, and he gets one free team. here is a link to how our league was set up last year.http://football3.myfantasyleague.com/2005/home/43464. As far as I know once you pay, you get the whole package. Live injury updates, live scoring updates, pretty much everything that all the other sites charge you extra for. I hope this will help you out.

Dawg-our league is using CBS sportsline again, as you stated it is in my opinion better than yahoo. Frankly I'm not sure what anyone would need that CBS doesn't provide. I did hear however, Fox Sports is making a huge push in this market, spending lots of money on advertising etc.

We are going with myfantasyleague this year, and they give you a credit if you switch from another site, which makes it only around $60 for the season for the league, which is half as much as I have seen other places. We used fantasycitysports for years, but it always sucked, so we finally made the switch.

I used cbs, rtsports.com, yahoo, easports, and espn last year. I rank them in that order.

CBS is cool and all, but yahoo is free for *almost* the same thing. I've run a league for nine years now and I'll always use yahoo until they start to charge.

Thanks for all of the info.

Yahoo's free version does not do what we want it to do. $60 is much cheaper than what we have been paying. We may try myfantasyleague out this year.

Thanks again.

Fanball.com is around $60 (I think). Have used it for the last couple of years and have loved it. It does everything you could want including keeper leagues and trading draft picks from one year to the next.

Most important options (I guess this would have been important):

1. Site speed -- Yahoo sucks in this category
2. In-game scoring that you can watch of your team vs. the team you are playing (besides the speed, Yahoo was great here)

All of the other items are pretty standard I think.

I always thought how CBS put lines out on the games was cool as hell.

As an update, I convinced my league to switch to myfantasyleague.com. At this point, I am somewhere between being burned at the stake and being put in front of a firing squad.

From what we have seen over the past month of using the site, it is worse than Yahoo as far as usability (and that is coming from someone that ranks Yahoo VERY low).

please do let us know. been using myfantasyleague for years, and never have had a problem. I just got my email for any players that are questionable or out for this week. This is a great site for your league. It may take some time to get used to. I think you will be impressed as week one starts and ends.

I will pose the question to the league and post their responses.

In general, it's just the feel of the interface that I think is unfavorable to everyone. to be perfectly honest, if it was just me I prefer this site over Yahoo. CBS is still a little better in my eyes at this point.

It was very difficult to set up for the rules we have been using for years on other sites. I design web-based applications, so it's not like I am not somewhat skilled in the ways of the web. ;)

Like I said, I will post any complaints to see if you guys can help out.

Thanks for the replies.
