I have a feeling this is leading to a chase of some sort.

If you would like my opinion, in no specific order I guess I would go with Tigers, Yanks, W Sox, Red Sox, Mets.

I think the NL blows.

boston injuries/pitching staff keeps them out of top 5. getting swept at KC does not make you a top 5 team.

oakland could be top 5...seems like august/sept is always their time

Tough question, but if you are looking for who to play on you would have to take teams that are playing well. Detroit has a great record but I wouldnt take them to win anything in the playoffs they way they have been playing. With that said top 5 are:
Yankees
WSox
Oakland
NYM
Cincy.

Cincy? You said, "I wouldn't take the Tigers to win anything in the playoffs the way they are playing." Well, the Reds are playing mediocre ball right now, and they will not even make the playoffs.

Why arent you giving them a chance to make the playoffs? They are leading the wildcard standings and are only 2.5 games behind STL, who has looked awful lately. I'm curious as to your top 5. Thanks.

I'm sorry, you can't put a National League team in the top 5/6. Only two teams in the NL are guaranteed to finish over .500 (Mets, Cardinals). The senior circuit is a complete joke! If you seriously believe the Mets are one of the five best teams in baseball, you live in a dream world!

Can't agree with anyone who says Boston belongs in this top 5. Sure they have a good record, but their pitching has been suspect at best since the ALL star break. Correct me if Im wrong but they just got swept by KC.

Soul,

I am being realistic. I'm certainly not a hater. In fact, I like the Mets, but how many games will you play against Philly, Florida, Atlanta, and Washington this year? Give me a break!

CTown,

What have the Reds' starters done since the All-Star break? I know Arroyo, the second best starter on the squad, is 0-2 with a 4.91 ERA since the Midsummer Classic. Give me the other numbers please!

The national league team that first comes to mind is the hottest team in the NL, the Dodgers.

Florida is as good as any puke NL team

They'll probably dominate next year

when the Mets sign a couple more 80 year old players :mj07:
