Vanished into vortex
Have had some pain in my sides and abdomen, went to the doctor and had a CT scan of my abdomen and I never really got the results because they said they would call if anything was wrong.

At a routine follow up visit the doctor said he wanted the CT scan of my abdomen done again as a routine procedure just to compare it to the first one.

I didn't think anything of it, but it just hit me that he really wouldn't want another one done if he didn't see something on the first one, right?

Is it routine to have a follow up scan like this for no reason or is he not telling me something?

Don't worry about it just go and get it done.

Two years ago I had a spot on my kidney that my doctor was concerned with. He wanted me to have a scan every 6 months to make sure it wasn't growing. I did that for two years at 1500 a pop and finally said screw that. They never saw a change. They always told me they would call if they saw a problem.

Doctors will double check things sometimes. It don't mean anything other than them not wanting you to die on their watch.
Most things caught early are curable. Its ignoring it that gets people in trouble.

not sure why he wants to recheck it. I would have to assume he wants to follow up on the first one?? Sounds like poor communication to me; the doctor/his staff should have told you the results of the first and explained why you would need it repeated. Why don't you call the office and ask tomorrow and let us know.

Never miss a chance for some quality soap box time in front of the camera hey Doc.

It was the closest thing to an answer I've seen in the thread

i explained what i would do and why

if you have a better idea of what you think is going on, or how CT scans are worked up, or what they might show, or why another one might be ordered, please enlighten us

Give me a link to any thread I've gotten on the proverbial soapbox.

The only time I've ever given my opinion on my area of knowledge is when someone specifically asked for it.

For now, you can go eat shit.

Last post in this thread for me whiney bitch....

"o, I'd say "this sucks, nothing I can do at this point but ride it out." I went to Taco Bell knowing the risk of getting food poisoning is always there. I know that people have been shown to get food poisoning from eating fast food. To me it would have been an acceptable risk to take, and if I got food poisoning from it I would realize this instead of playing the blame-game. I'm an adult, I like fast food, I know I can get food poisoning, but I accept that and go anyways. It's not my personality to have the 'woe is me' mindset. What does it solve? Does it make me feel better...no.

The same way a person who signs the dotted line to undergo surgery. They are informed that there are risks involved. If they didn't understand them, then it's their problem for not piping up and asking. When they consent, they legally accept those risks. Yeah, it sucks when it happens. But guess what, sometimes it does."

Wow, you're a bigger loser than I thought. Since when does posting an opinion equate to getting on a soapbox? This board is full of opinions.

Seriously, I can't belive right now you just searched through my past posts in order to find that. You know what? I've got a decent number of posts on here. In 3k+ posts, you're going to find something like that.

The fact that you looked for it proves what a schmuck you are. I can see it now.

IO clicks on my name, searches under all saint's posts, and then weeds through all of my latest posts in order to find that, just to prove what a man he is. I hope you had a good time searching through the other bunch that couldn't prove you're point. I can imagine the erection you got when you pulled that up.

What a douchebag you are IO. The funny thing is, despite the fact that you said you are done with this thread, I know the moment you see a reply from me in it you will be reading this just as you are during this moment. You will then spend 5 minutes debating whether or not your burning desire to win an internet messageboard argument is paramount to going against your word in saying you were done with this thread.

For that, IO, you are pathetic.

And if you are going to attempt to insult me, at least properly do it. It's whiny, not whiney you ignorant ass.

Is this place full of a bunch of women?

How seriously do people on madjacks take this stuff? I won't remember this thread in a week. It's amazing to me how much you guys take to the memory banks on these boards. Shit, half the time I can't tell the difference b/w KOD and yyz. I guess I never realized that some people really must take this stuff to heart. :violin:

trivializing another's ailment when they almost died, I kind of remember that especially when it was me. btw, when I wrote that last night, it was in the middle of the night and my neck was hurting. :com:

I'm not going to go dig it up, but I don't seem to recall you mentioning being on your deathbed. All I remember was it was a debate on liability, which I stated my opinion on the legal aspect. If you got the impression I was trying to trivialize your sickness, that certainly was not my intention.

How bout them bears.
