Because of some changes at work several of us have to pull ten days in a row between days off. I decided that since so much work needed done in a short amount of time that I should not drink beer during this stretch to make sure I was at my best each day or ten days could become eleven or even twelve.

I have a rule about drinking on work nights anyway, well it's not so much a rule as it is a suggestion.

The wife said there was no way I could go ten days without a beer, I am finished with day 7 and I am AWFULLY THIRSTY about now, I'm just saying.....

Hi Penguinfan -

I bet that would be a lot of time to work in a row if it included weekends. I'm about to do something similar, I have an 8 day cruise I'm going on in mid september and one of my buddies owns a security company. I'm going to go to work for him on Saturdays taking 12 hr shifts at a pretty good rate cash under the table. This way I don't have to dip into any savings, won't have to pay taxes on it, and I can pretty much sit in front of a computer screen or tv the whole time I'm there. I'm thinking the "no drinking" rule (I use on weekdays) might be a good one (to use on the weekends) from here until september. I bet I will get pretty thirsty too!! However, come 9/17 I'll be drunk as a sailor (and on a boat) for eight days straight. lol

Yea, probably a safe bet to take the UNDER for the house limit.

Getting REAL thirsty about now. I guess going to the beer distributor and getting a case just to make sure it's cold for the weekend is a bad idea.

fan, had my first beer 50 years ago ! was a narragansett...still have a couple every day after golf, then cocktail hour starts at 4 !every year i stop drinking from new years day{after the games] until super bowl. never had a problem.. point is , if you have made it 7 days you can do 3 more standing on your head !!if you are a heavy drinker, like me, consider a short break every year.. better than going to meetings every day !!!!!!

How many threads you gonna infect with this nonsense?

On a serious note I don't run around making fun of other peoples medical problems, you are a very small person.

I have gone out of my way to ignore you and thats the last I will reply to your stupidity.

Yea, so far out of your way that your signature was about me for around 2 or 3 weeks.

Learn how to take a joke you toolbox. You sure love to stir up shit but if it flies back in your direction at all you flip out.

The only real serious concern I would have in drinking before the 10 days, is whether you actually have a wager of sorts with your wife on the issue. If so, it would depend on the payoff either way, and if not, well, I see no real reason not to quench your thirst. Sheesh...7 days?!? You DESERVE a beer. Again, tho, it depends on the wife and conditions of said challenge.

Best of luck to you, whatever you do.

I've decided to help you out and have a few drinks tonight for you. So, you don't have to have any, just imagine them going down on your behalf. Cheers.

No wager either way, though thats not a bad idea, aw screw it, I can get a beer and a blowjob I'm sure.

I don't really have a drinking problem (though every alchoholic says that), just enjoy a few beers at the end of a long day, short day, day that ends in Y, etc....

As I get a bit older it's tougher to get out of bed in the morning after a few beers the night before, keep in mind my day starts at about 2:45 AM EST, so that may have more to do with it than the beer, maybe I should give up working instead of giving up beer????

I'm not sure about drinking beer, but I know 10 days is an awful long time to abstain from bopping the bolgna. I gave it up for lent once and never even made it close to Good Friday.
