Without getting into a long story I've been suffering with all the above for awhile now. Haven't been able to run etc.....constant pain, stiffness etc. I have heard about these shoes and a friend of mine then also suggested that I try them as they worked wonders for her. Lately I've been going for massage and chiropractor, accuputure, ultra sound, some pilates routines, Thera-Band Exercise Ball, celebrex etc.....Friday night I was up most of the night with real discomfort in back and right knee. I then decided that 1st thing in the morning I'm going to go buy these shoes which are called MBT's http://www.mbt-uk.com/....very expensive $300, but I would have gave double that or more if they could tell me that they would work. Well I have to say that yesterday was the 1st day in I don't know how long that I didn't have any pain....none whatsoever. Today is the second day and I ran for 35 minutes on the treadmill. I can't believe how fvcken good I feel....unbeliveable. They might not work for everyone but I have to share this with any of you gals/guys who are in any discomfort. While you're wearing them you are getting a real workout and you can feel it. Only thing I have against them is the style but I'll take it as they have be moving freely.

How did you purchase them? I'd be interested. I used to jog 6 miles a day then developed pain in one hip and haven't been able to since. I do go barefoot as soon as I'm home from work but still have the old joint pains.

Morris.....purchased them at a store. I see your from NY so there shouldn't be any problem finding a store that carries them......I can't say enough about them as far as pain free....no pain at all anywhere. I ran again today....I'm not complaining as they are a workout but well worth it. Hope you find them and I don't think you'll regret it if you do.

Morris.....just found this link for stores in NY
http://www.swissmasaius.com/shop_finder.php?key=state&state=New York

Also just seen some intersesting stuff from one of the NY stores site. I was told to only wear them for about 20 minutes a day as they are hard to get used to. But I haven't taken them off since day 1. I wear them constantly and as of today I am really custom to them. Except for my problems for getting them I'm in really good shape so I have really gotten used to them fast. Before I seen this copy and paste about being healthy, I had told my brother that I couldn't see a person that was in poor shape wearing these because they are a workout....anyways here's the copy and paste.
MBT Masai Barefoot Technology

MBT: What makes it unique?

? The configuration of the heel and sole is the key to the MBT shoe.

MBT: What does it do?

? It changes the ?muscle memory?, the way the body works and responds.

MBT: How does it work?

? ?Heel rocker?: There is no heel contact. Because of the way the heel is designed, contact occurs in front of the heel. This decelerates impact forces.

o Most other shoes have a heel that is higher than the sole and is made of hard materials; that results in a higher impact force at heel contact.

? "Arch sensor" is the cushion under the arch that creates a sense of instability, forcing the wearer to use muscles above the foot to support the arch and create stability.

? The ?rock & roll? mechanism of the sole from the midfoot to the toe reduces impact forces when the heel comes off the ground during the propulsive phase of gait.

? The healthier person deserves MBT to improve balance, posture, alignment, gait, circulation, and muscle tone. MBT is easy for this individual to adjust to the mechanical forces that the shoe creates, within a few days.

? The weaker the person the more challenging the process. MBT can help this individual train under the direction of a professional or self-train to improve balance, posture, alignment, gait, circulation, and muscle tone. When possible, a professional that is intimately aware of this individual?s medical and mechanical history should be consulted. The use of MBT can be a slow and arduous process that not all individuals can and will accept.

does Payless carry them? :mj07:

Wonder if they come in a 14 triple A? I know that's a tremendously common size, but alas, that's what I'm burdened with wearing, lol. Buying shoes for me sucks!

Will also add that there really is something to this technology, and it's much more likely to help you than magnets or copper bracelets.

I'm bumping this because I'm interested if you are still pleased.

ces, I'm still pleased. They work for me but I can't see they being for everyone. This is from the copy and paste I found at a site.

The use of MBT can be a slow and arduous process that not all individuals can and will accept.

I went to their website and read everything. I'm pretty sure my wife has plantar faciaitis(sp) and I pronate with my gait. She really has a tough time and it would be great to see some relief. Anyway, that's why I'm interested. Thanks for your updates.

ELVIS.....that was the very first thing that I noticed, my knee pain was gone. I apoligize as I meant to post a reply to your playing ball reply, but I forgot. I like yourself would have paid $1000 as I tried everything. Don't know if you can play ball in them, but I do hope they work out for you.
