Pretty hot selling product right now.

I came across a wholesaler that I can buy the Apple Ipod 4gb nano for $95/each if I buy them in bulk. Thats pretty cheap considering these are going on ebay for about $200. I'm thinking of making a $5K investment and trying to double my money. I'm just wondering if it's worth the hassle:shrug:

Anybody sell a lot on there and opinions??

Thanks,

So. Cal
only tip i got for you is from a buddy of mine who buys and sells quite a bit, and he will mark his stuff a little bit lower and then more than double the discount by charging it in shipping. Kinda sneaky

Seems like a good investment - the only hassle is going to mail everything, but if you are doubling your money, seems worth it. I sell quite a bit on ebay and have never had a problem with it - sell more on amazon - I buy Pimsleur language programs and then resell for more than I bought them for - have never had a problem unloading them. Good luck!

S. CAL.
heard about the shipping bonus. its easy to suck people in to paying a little for the product but more for shipping than they should. i've got so much crap i need to start selling on ebay.

Make sure they are "genuine" there are a lot of knock off items being sold, usually imported from China, which of course is where Apple Ipods come from, you can do a search on ebay to find out tips as to whether or not you are buying genuine Ipods. Just remember if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. good luck.

on the shipping, I've heard ebay is cutting down on allowing that.

Conversely, I've been much more successful selling things on ebay with ZERO shipping charge.

Lastly, if you can get these for 100, and they are going for 200, and you want to sell them fast, put a buy it now on your auction for say 180 or so. That way, you are making a profit, and they are going fast. GL!

kneifl, I just did a search on ebay on the completed listings, and I didn't see any of these going for close to 200. Which specific one is this? I'd be careful.

Yep, I should have mentioned 180-200, seems a little more accurate. I did see some go for 190 though. I'm not sure if I'm even going to do it. I'm not too familiar with selling large quantities of items like this and don't want to put the time forth.

The Boys, I know you have an infatuation with Costco, but they don't always offer the cheapest prices. Hell, there are a number of things I don't buy there because it is overpriced (i.e. Wine, electronics, etc.).

Here is the website, several people are selling them in the $100 range if bought in bulk. I'm sure there are other products you can buy pretty cheap in bulk at wholesale prices there too.

I agree with you to a point, but when you throw that warranty into the equation then it changes everything. Example, daughter-in law dropped her Cannon digital camera 6 months after she bought it. No questions asked they gave her a new one. Daughter in laws cat chewed up her IPOD earbuds, they gave her a brand new IPOD. Finally......COSTCO is the largest realer of wine in the WORLD.

I agree about the return policy. I wouldn't buy a plasma TV anywhere else except Costco because of the return policy. Same TV I want to get is a few $100 cheaper at BJ's Warehouse - but I'll buy at Costco just because of the return policy.

The warranty is good too, and I can see how it would have its benefits.

I would never buy wine there. A place across the street from me has a damn good selection and is priced much better than costco, they give case 15% discounts as well (Total Wine).

I like Costco, really do. I find they have a lot of international foods (cheeses and spreads) that most plceas don't. Also, if you buy groceries in bulk you can't go wrong.
