I've seen two recent sports gambling movies, and both have been utter shit. "Two for the money", after all the hype, I thought was a huge let down. I watched "bookies" last night and thought it was crap too. There was one decent made for tv movie that came out a few years ago that was decent and it based on a true bookmaker in college, I can't remember the name of it, but that still kind of sucked. So my question to you, is there any decent sports gambling movies out there. If not Scorsese or Oliver stone need to put one in the works.

Are you talking about Big Shot - Confessions of a Campus Bookie?

It was about Benny Silman former ASU student accused of being the mastermind of the 1994 point shaving scandal.

Dont understand why everyone loves 'Let it Ride'. I thought is was crap, and Dreyfuss general bugs the hell out of me.

Forgot about 'Diggs Town'. That was a fun flick.

Favorite part is when Dreyfuss is in the paddock and Tilly walks up behind him and covers his eyes and says "Guess who?"

Dreyfuss replies, "A football salesman?"

Another great part.....

When the security guard is standing with the steel box (full of Trotter's money while he's in the toilet) and he's explaining how awesome his peripheral vision is....

"I can see the guy throwing up on the pool table"

and my favorite...

Jay Trotter: You've got great legs.
Vicki: Thanks. They go from my ass all the way to the floor.

Lot's of great lines from Let it Ride. "I was only gonna bet $50 on the Packers and another zero came out."

It got to be the closet thing to a real gambling community ever made.

Bottom line.....

When you lose everybody loves you

When you win everybody hates you

"God likes me.....He really, really likes me!"

My favorite scene is when he asks everybody, "Who you like?" Scratches out the horse they picked leaving him the longshot. After it hits, people are pissed at him because he didn't give them a "so-called tip" when all he did was "fade" their picks.

ummmmm.....sounds familiar.
