Yes, I feel for the really poor, elderly & sick victims. But alot didn't fall into this category. They were just stubborn or ? (I want to say stupid, but I will hold off on that classification. But, what do you call folk who are at below sea level with water on just about 4 sides of you with a monster hurricane approaching and who refuse to leave) ??

I'll tell you what........If there was a free concert by fiddy cent & puff diddly or if they were giving away free pairs of Nike Jordan sneaks north of the lake, my wager is most everyone would find a way to be/get there.

Sorry to sound so cold hearted, but one has to be deaf, dumb & blind to not know about or pay attention to their environment/surroundings.

What's that they say about an ounce of prevention ??

I see your point hitman,You can look at this from many angles,Unfortunately are government feels the same way you do evidently,So because people are lazy or just don't get it,After the fact we should leave them along with the poor,sick,elderly and the children of the just don't get it an lazy parents with out food,water,shelter an med attention,I don't think so,We should feel embarrassed as Americans

I will give it to you on the elderly, it's a damn shame how we care for our senior citizens in this country, and apparently you are a compassionate person (which is a good thing). I am compassionate as well but I am sick and tired of hearing about the poor people of New Orleans. The citizens of Houston opened our city and homes to many people in need and they sh*t all over us (just look @ some of the pre and post Katrina statistics). Many places were leveled during Katrina, not to mention Rita that pounded Texas weeks later, Florida has been hit by 8 hurricanes in the last 2 years and you do not see any documentaries about them. I have not seen the HBO thing and probably will not watch it, I have had enough Katrina coverage to last me a life time. Case in point, last week the big deal was Reliant Energy is turning off the victim?s electricity after a year because the govt. will not pay for it any longer, but nobody can work due to one reason or the other.

I don't know. They are pretty secretive about those things from what I hear.
But, gee, if I were you, I wouldn't ask or try to find out in a public forum like you did, they probably won't disclose info like that to you and you'll probably wind up frustrating yourself, jumping to all types of conclusions and calling people names.
Perhaps, do a google search instead, maybe that will help you out more than I could.
