The pressure is on Bulldog QB Hennig this season and if he does not perform well, Croom?s head might be on the chopping block come January. Hennig has a very athletic group of receivers to work with as well as an experienced offensive line. Granted the running back position is a little weak but I like MSU chances to stay in this one and that effort should be helped out by an outstanding kicking game. The defense is very good particularly at the defensive tackle and middle linebacker positions as demonstrated by the 3.7 yards per carry they allowed in ?05.

I do not have a lot of respect for Spurrier and was not impressed with his coaching last year. Both the offense and the defense played very inconsistently and I do not expect much improvement in ?06. The Cocks were outscored last season 96-48 in the second quarter indicating to me that the team did not remain focused. An upset here would not surprise me at all.

Not exactly how I wanted to start the season but it is tough to handicap Hennig getting his collarbone busted in the 2nd quarter. I didn't watch the game but besides allowing a 53 yard halfback pass for a touchdown, it looks like the Bulldog defense did their job.
