Week 1 Picks

Alright this is my first attempt at publicly posting picks, so take it easy on me Last year I ended up about +20 units, thanks to Colin Cowherd's picks and a great bowl season. I didn't keep real good track, so I'm using MadJack to keep me more accountable and responsible. I usually use a local guy to place wagers since he has low house/juice and pays cash. Only disadvantage is he only takes wagers day of the games. So some of these picks may be updated once they officially are placed with him. I'll make no updates in the original post after the first kickoff. Updates will be in red.

I know some of you like to bet few games/larger wagers. But with 5 days of football, I couldn't resist all the action!

Each play is 1 unit unless otherwise stated.

Line moved 2 points against Northwestern, so I am going to drop this bet. Instead, I'll go with the under at 55 for this game. Line has moved 2 points to help me out with BC, ad UTEP has gone from -1 to +2.5, which I think they'll win straight up. I'll be placing all wagers at 5:00est.

I'll have Coherd's locks of the week tomorrow. He has already hinted that Tenn-Cal Under is a good play.

Well not a bad night, but so close to a great night! Ended up 3-1 for +2 units. BC really ruined the great night. Not only did they prevent me from going 4-0, but I also had a side bet on BetonUSA--a 3 team parlay that would have won me an additional 2 units. So instead of ending up +6 units, I only ended up +2.

I will update with Cowherd's lock's later today. I am really looking hard at Nevada for tonight's game--seems like a lot of points for a team that finished strong last year and has their QB returning. Anyone have an idea why they are getting so many points??

Here are Cowherd's locks: Akron, USC, Cal, North. Ill. Also mentioned Cal/Tenn under looks good. Based on this info, and some more research, I have made some updates listed below. I can't go with Cal, because I already picked Tenn in an online parlay. I also can't go with North Ill because I am a Buckeye fan!!

Well, I tried to get ahold of my guy all nite for Nevada/Fresno--unsuccessful. Then I get home at 10:30 and it's already in the 4th, 21-19!! I looked at the schedule earlier to double check the time and it said 10pm on ESPN2. Didn't realize the time change. I knew I shoulda checked the TV channel guide. And I shouldn't wait till the last minute to call my guy! Well, here's hoping Fresno tacks on a couple so I'll feel better bout it.
