if i wasn't so damn hungover, i'd be a lot more fired up for the start of college football. i can't believe it's this time of year already. i LOVE it. anyways, traditionally i start the season slowly (and finish poorly), so just a couple plays today.
northern ill (+18) 2 units. with ohio state breaking in many new defensive starters (yes, i understand they're talented, but they're still green) and the talent of wolfe and horvath, northern ill will score some points. they may not get a lot of stops on d, but they'll stay within 2 touchdowns. ohio state will be a lot more focused on texas next week than they will be on the huskies. strong lean to the over as well.
rutgers (+4) 1 unit. i just really like the rutgers backfield. they'll put up some points.
hawaii (+15.5) 2 units. yeah, yeah, yeah, hawaii sucks on the mainland. everybody knows it, and it's factored into the line already. now, i don't know much about the warriors (rainbow or otherwise), but they always have great athletes on the defensive line. i like that matchup with the inexperienced offensive line of alabama.
georgia tech (+7) 1 unit. prime time game, home dog, overrated (as they are every year) favorite... gotta grab the points. ball will find calvin johnson enough to keep this game close.
arkansas (+8) 1 unit. arkansas finished strong last year, losing very close games to georgia (on the road), south carolina, and lsu (on the road). they are led by a real dick. qb casey dick. they return almost everybody. the hogs are looking for a big season, and it starts with revenge for the embarassing lost at sc last year. i'm not saying they'll get the outright win, but they'll keep it very close.
