Record: [1-0]
Profit/Loss: +1,000

FLORIDA STATE +3.5
Risking $1,100 to win $1,000

16 of the last 19 games between these two schools have been won by the team with more rushing yards. Well, Florida State's Booker should be one of the top 5 backs in the country this year. I read recently that he has Warrick Dunn's single-season rushing record posted above his bed to remind him of his primary goal this season. On the flip side of the coin, Miami's top back Moss won't start due to a suspension, and Coker has hinted that true freshman James may end up being the feature back tomorrow night. Let's see, should I side with a 5th year senior or a true freshman? Should be a good one, and I'm backing the dog in this rivalry game. Good luck!

nowadays, being a 5th year senior means 2 things:

1) you werent good enough to leave early to enter the draft.

2) you werent good enough to have them take away your redshirt year as a frosh

just another viewpoint. regardless this is going to be a great game dominated by the defenses, and it will prob be every bit as good as the osu/tex gm next weekend

3) You play for a program called Florida State, which is loaded with talent at the skill positions every year. You're better than the starting tailback, but your coach is partial to the upperclassmen.

bowden is hardly partial to upperclassmen. the best players have always played at fsu, from deion to ward to warrick and beyond

S**t, he must be partial to some upperclassmen because he started Chris Rix at quarterback. Don't tell me the Noles didn't have a younger QB on the squad better than that stiff!

rix might have been one of the most physically gifted quarterbacks to play at fsu in the last decade. he just never turned out to be a good leader and didnt have the essential intangibles. there were some games that he looked like a heisman caliber qb and others where he looked like he belonged at florida a+m and not state. youre right though, fsu hasnt had that big time qb in awhile. seems like a lot of people think weatherford is the next great fsu qb but i think wright is the better qb tomorrow

He wasn't a good leader because he was too big for his britches. A cocky QB who thought he was better than he really was. He was tough, but that only goes so far with your teammates. In the end, his lack of football savy was his downfall. I agree with you about Wright being the better QB tomorrow, but this game will come down to the running game.

Rix had to be a pracitce all star. Had all the tools but they did not translate to game day. I still couldn't believe that was never replaced either, but let's face it -- Wyatt Sexton wasn't the most stable character either.

hard for me to pick a side..but I do like the under...1st game of the year for both teams, usually the offenses are not gonna be as good as the defenses, throw in the new rules this year to speed up the game...plus last 4 meetings have gone Under this number pretty easily...

Yeah, I don't know about Sexton, but Adrian McPherson was there at the same time, and I know he was better than Rix! Adrian just couldn't stay out of trouble.

Bowden was too worried Peterson was on the take, which he was. They all had their own set of strikes against them.

1sob,

I wasn't on a little slide, I lost the majority of my college basketball profit. I might post plays from time to time, but my focus is squarely on college and pro football now. I will definitely post my baseball playoffs plays. Best of luck to you from here on out!
