There are zealots of every stripe.

As for those photos, SixFive, I find it counter-productive to bring up a six month-old story and rerun incendiary photos. I thought it was tacky when news outlets re-ran Abu Gharib photos over and over to make the Bush administration look bad. Conservatives have shown their hypocrisy again in the way they've treated the overreaction to the Danish cartoons.

Do you want some pictures from the last week? I'm sure I won't have to look hard. Wake up!

SixFive, as usual we are closer in our thinking that you realize. I realize that we are gravely threatened by Islamic jihadists. We need to be militant in our defense against them and we need Westerners of all kinds to understand this threat. I would imagine that we have different views on how the Islamic jihadists should be fought, but nobody's in the dark here.

I had a brief stint with a half Lebanese-half Turkish babe vacationing with family in Vegas several years back. ...She actually looked quite a bit like this woman. ...(I'll find pictures and post them for proof if anyone wants to compare women they've made it to 2nd base with......Sorry, just got back from the gym) Most Lebanese are westernized and not particularly religous. It's a damn shame the negative influence Lebanon has gotten from the nasty Islamic countries. Beirut was once a great resort city. I feel bad for the people stuck in the middle.

Speaking of Arab broads - it's a damn shame in general for all those women to cover up. There are countless women that will never even get to feel beautiful. Islamic males deserve hell just for covering them up.
its funny how nobody says anything about nuns that cover up and how the catholic church should burn down b/c of it.

huh? not even worth responding too, but since it the dumbest thing I have seen posted this week, wtf. Aside from the fact that Smurphy was being a bit tounge in cheek,

a. Nuns do not cover their faces.
b. Nuns choose to wear what they wear. They are not forced to by pencil dicks wearing towels on their heads.

Although the only people the Catholic chuch terrorize these days are little boys, it's still an annoying organization. I would not protest if the Vatican was burned down anymore than if Neverland Ranch was burned down.

Nuns do choose - and they are usually not very good looking anyway, so the world is not denied much beauty.

Oreilly Had a pair from opposite sides of the fence debating this last night--thought boths sides did poor job of presenting their side.

main question unaswered by the speaker representing peaceful Muslims side was why they do not publically oppose fanatics views.

Have to admit my knowledge of Muslim religion is very limited--but one thing that sticks with me is when war was starting their were lots of debates on AFP news forum on issue--and the very Muslims that said their religion was not violent were the same that could not distinguish any diff from unintentional deaths of civilians in war to purposely targeting civilians--and I had huge prob with that.

DTB, you make good points here. Many Muslims do equivocate malicious killing of civilians and collateral civilian killings. Many of them also will not condemn jihadist tactics, even if they themselves do not act as jihadists.

My argument here is that all races, religions, etc. tend to be very forgiving of their own. Look at SF Giants fans with Barry Bonds, blacks/USC fans with O.J. and Americans with Lance Armstrong just to give a few examples. When you think that you are the underdog or the oppressed, you tend to rationalize a lot of immoral behavior by people who are fighting for your cause.

easier to rationalize "immoral behavior" when this is what your Book sez!

oops!........translations

oops!........translations

[9:5] Once the Sacred Months are past, (and they refuse to make peace) you may kill the idol worshipers when you encounter them, punish them, and resist every move they make. If they repent and observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) and give the obligatory charity (Zakat), you shall let them go.
GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful.

[9:29] You shall fight back against those who do not believe in GOD, nor in the Last Day, nor do they prohibit what GOD and His messenger have prohibited, nor do they abide by the religion of truth - among those who received the Scripture - until they pay the due tax, willingly or unwillingly.

[4:101] When you travel, during war, you commit no error by shortening your Contact Prayers (Salat), if you fear that the disbelievers may attack you. Surely, the disbelievers are your ardent enemies.
