Starting corner Tarrell Brown arrested last night for possession of the funny grass..and a gun...Knowing Mack Brown at a minimum he is supsended. Probable backup is an absolute stud...but a freshman.

He was in a car with former Horn LB AAorn Harris. May be they bothgot charged because it was all in the car and not on a specific person.

Still ridiculous. Dont know if this has been reported in the media yet...to the effect it impacts your wagering decisions...

UPDATE: I have now read the arrest affidavit. Harris, the former player was driving and all over the road at 3 am. When he was pulled over admitted he was high and had a blunt under his seat. The two passengers, Brown and Gatewood, another DB on the team, were asleep. But Brown had a loaded 9mm in his lap with his hand on it.

So Brown probably OK on the weed, in deep doo on the gun, and obviously has ZERO judgment or character.

Another Update:

Per the lawyers Weed belonged to former player Harris, gun belongs to the backup player Gatewood. Of course still not a good explanation for why it was in Brown's hands, or what theya re doing crusing at 3am on a Sunday night.

No word from Mack Brown yet on suspensions.

Further Update I just heard:

For now at least both guys are not participating in any team functions while the investigation continues.

Apparently Gatewood and Brown both passed a drug test administered after the arrest.

Thanks for the updates Sun. Please post as you know more.

Dumb, dumb decision by these young men with unbelievable potentially lucrative football careers ahead of them.

Gun was apparently registered to gatewood and they were in Gatewood's vehicle.

Right or wrong Brown is gonna walk on criminal charges.

Whether he gets suspended is another issue.

been keeping up with it on OB's...

been keeping up with it on OB's...

simply can't believe that he had the loaded gun in his hand and apparently slept through getting pulled over...such a stupid move less than a week out from the big one.

thanks for the updates

interesting. on sunday they released brown and gatewood but kept harris in jail. that made me think they had nothing on either of them except maybe the misdemeanor handgun charges.

guess we'll see how the story unfolds.

Uh, Cwood, before you start throwing stones at the Big12 you might want to take a peek back at the Big 11's schedule from this past weekend. They didn't exactly play any powerhouses. More like creampuff city.
