We had a great thread Survivor Pool thread last season and it helped me be one of 4 to go through the season undefeated. Started thinking about Week 1 and was hoping we could get some good discussions going.

My initial thought is Arizona at home against SF.

Good to see this dude

The info exchanged last year helped me tremendously and i managed to snag a cheque at the end of the regular season as well.

I'll be back with some more thoughts later but leaning towards Titans and Browns at the moment.

Other survivor contestants, please feel free to chime in with your thoughts...

Best of luck to all for this 2006 Campaign and Surviving we shall!!!

Hello everyone,

I am participating in a huge survivor pool at work again this year and would like to throw out my picks and get your opinions.

I have three entries:

Thus far I am leaning towards:

1. Arizona at home

2. Tennesse at home

3. Wash redskins at home.

Please share your thoughts and opininons.

tennessee is starting Kerry Collins. go back and check his won-loss record with Oaktown. playing tennessee is not smart IMO.

volek is in the doghouse and VY is not ready.

hence tenny makes a pickup of collins last week and makes him the starter even though he has very few snaps with the offense and he has the mobility of a potted plant.

add in a poor offensive line and a ?able running game

i wouldnt bet washington either. their offense seems to be MIA. the preseason doesnt always indicate a teams' performance in the regular season but that offense has a LOT of trouble scoring. portis is out too. that means you're putting your $ on TJ Duckett and aa quickly aging Brunell

:scared

i like arizona and new england (the safest choice IMO but it might be better off saving them for down the road)

I actually like the Tennessee pick here fellas. It's not so much the Titans, it's more about the brutal Jets. Trust me I will be fading that team all year, Pennington always looks like he could be injured in the next plays and Vilma can't do everything on his own for the D.

Collins is not somebody you can depend on all the time but he can certainly light it up and the Titans did sign some big-name free agents in the offseason. If they don't win this game, boy they might not win another game until they meet the Texans and that is not a given by any stretch. Trust me, you can look at the rest of the Titans' schedule and it doesn't look too pretty.

I also like the Arizona pick, i guess a lot of folks will be on that one.

I don't know about Washington lanbe, i see Minny pulling one out here, if I have to pick the Redskins, that would be against the Texans and/or the aforementioned Titans later down the road.

New England would also be another popular pick for this week but I wouldn't worry too much about them. You know Bill and Tom and Co. always has 10 or so wins in the regular season so I will be saving them, personally.

Cheers guys and surviving we shall!

Our pool prize is usually around 7k... crapped out last year in the 2nd to final week when SF beat STL... I was PO'D

anyway, I split with a person and we have 5 picks
NE
Zona
Carolina

(first 3 picks we always take the top spread). The reasoning is that 90% of the field will be on these 3, if they win, we are still solid. If they lose, we still have other picks, plus most of the field is gone.

Our other 2 picks are Seatle and Philly. Both are playing poor teams from last year with a lot of offensive questions. I think both of these teams are solid on both sides of the ball and should be able to win. I don't really like taking road teams, but with all the games being close the first week, I like to take teams that I feel will be in the playoff
s

I also like Chicago to win in GB

Washington offense scares me, but dome teams playing outside are usually not good (does wash have grass or that turf stuff?).

Tenn QB is a big issue, same reason I am staying away from Pitt.
