Miami +17 over Purdue - This line is a bit of an overreaction to Miami's performance against Northwestern. Even though the offense was a no-show, the defense was not awful against an experienced offensive front. Purdue gave up points in every quarter against 1-AA foe Indiana State, so look for Miami's offense to find success and cover the large number.

Indiana -3.5 over Ball State - Do the oddsmakers feel as though the 15,000 in attendance in Muncie give the Cards that much of a home field advantage? Indiana is tough offensively and will be able to control this one thru the air. Ball State will be better this year but is not ready to beat the Hoosiers.

Colorado State -2 over Colorado - Dan Hawkins has to be wishing that he was back on the blue turf after last week's debacle, and this one isn't any easier. The Buffs offense will continue to look ragged and CSU will when the in state game.

Penn State +8 over Notre Dame - I like getting more than a touchdown in this one. ND still doesn't have me convinced that they can be as good as what people would like to think, and Penn State has the playmakers to make this one close. The Lions might not win but the number is high.

Washington +17 over Oklahoma - The Sooners' offense was awful against UAB and now the coaches are calling out A.P. Even though the defense of Oklahoma is solid, I see the Huskies keeping within the number in Norman.

Illinois +11 over Rutgers - I was able to grab a little with the hook at about 1:30 this morning, but it is no longer out there. The Biting Illini are still the doormat of the Big Tenleven but I see them scoring enough today to stay within the number. Watch this one on the ticker instead of tuning in to the tube.

Be back with some totals and team totals

Totals:

Toledo/Western Michigan over 50
- Thanks goes out to Stave Fezzik for posting the under to get this down to fifty. It has stalled out at this number, so i will play it now. Traditionally a shootout and it will continue to be a high scoring affair. Some folks are making a big deal about Toledo's overtime game in week one, but you must remember that they threw away some scoring opportunities in regulation.

Bowling Green/Buffalo over 40 - Ok...so Buffalo might not score...I will admit that. However, this could still go over the total. Nice day in Ohio, even though I am quite confident that the wind is blowing in BG. Fans, once this goes over 40, leave Doyt Perry and head to the Easy Street Cafe for a cold one.

Team Totals:

Virginia Tech over 26 - Beamer's teams score in a variety of ways and I am sure he challenged these kids this week after a mediocre performance.

Kent State over 16.5 - They should have scored last week but squirted chances away. The athletes are there, and today they will put some points on the board.

Illinois over 19.5 - Good number. Obviously I feel that Illinois can hang with Rutgers, so this is a good play. See above.

Michigan over 37.5 - Hope I am not being a homer here, but I love this play. The mistakes that were made last week will not carry over to this week. They only put 27 on the board last week, but they left about five scores on the field and the return teams did nothing. Look for that to change today.

The Illinois picks are looking really solid. I should have known that Ron Zook would find a way to lay an egg.
