Indiana (-3.5) over Ball St
Not sold on Ball St even though I had them last week and they came back and won by 20. Indiana has a very good QB and some talent at WR. IMO the Hoosier line came open up some serious running room and grid the Cards out of this game. Ball state will be aggressive and the defense for IU has to step up, if they play well they will walk away with some turnovers and turnovers should lead to offensive production. I think Ball st is much improved and they have players but this is a bigger and stronger IU team that started believing last year and should continue in this game. Powers got hurt last game but is still listed as the starter. If he cannot go, there are two solid players backing him up. I think W. Michigan is a bit stronger that E. Mich but they are both about equal so these teams are pretty equally matched. IMO the Hoosier team is just a little stronger and have more playmakers which should be the difference this Saturday.

Yeah it feels like its time for the first pint of the day, some of my clan would say a late start but any start is a good one.

Zona (+16.5) over LSU
This is going to be a dog fight between a very good team and a very hardnosed team. Zona will lean on their tough defense and they will need to get some serious play considering how good LSU can be on offense. LSU opened the season by routing Louisiana-Lafayette 45-3 last week. The Tigers haven't allowed a touchdown to an opposing offense since Georgia quarterback D.J. Shockley scored on a 7-yard run in the second quarter of last year's SEC championship game. This is not good considering Willie Tuitama completed 19 of 39 passes for 189 yards, and the rushing attack was held to 67 yards, 54 of which came on one run by Chris Henry. Both of those players will have to step up or this could get ugly. However I do like the way Stoops has set up his defense, they have a good secondary and play hard. Saying that this will be a test and it will come down to Arizonas ability to move the ball on the LSU?s defense. IMO they can get some drives going and even in death valley I?m going to take the chalk. The main reason I like this is LSU has Auburn on deck @ Auburn and Arizona is coming into town to play this team and focus only on the tigers.

Okla (-17) over Washington U
This is a play against how bad Washington University is and how Oklahoma has something to prove. I do not think the huskies will be able to stop the running game of the Sooners. Also I am not sure the huskies can move the ball on offense against this sooner group. Oklahoma should have a huge chip on their shoulders considering they were considered a dead dog when Bomar was kicked off the team. They have the ability to really beat up on this team if they decide to come to play. Ty Willingham is not the best coach but I am sure he will pull out all the stops in this game but stoops has the players to completely stop anything Ty is going to do. I am interested to see Petterson against this soft defense, he should do a lot of damage on the running game and not to mention the passing success he should have against a poor LB crew. I just see this will be a very fired up Sooners team and the huskies will not have the ability to stay and play with them.

is it time for a shot! YEAH!

So. Carolina (+3) over Georgia
The Gamecock defense was VERY impressive in their last game. Georgia?s offense was not as impressive and the return man for Georgia is not playing. Spurrir is 11-2 against Georgia and the crowd will be a big factor come game time. The bas O-line for S.Carolina will be exposed but I expect a bit of a turn around from last weeks opening. The Gamecocks managed only 10 first downs and 274 yards of total offense. This is something Spurrir will change and I expect him to open the bag a bit more. Georgia has won the last four meetings and has a 43-13-2 lead in the overall series with the Gamecocks. Last meeting S.Carolina lost to Georgia 15-17 in Athens and at home against a different Georgia team should have this is a close contest and try to get the ball out to Rice a bit more this game. There are a lot of question marks on both sides but I like the defense of the gamecocks and expect the offense under spurrir not to sputter in 2 games in a row. I can see if the offense gets on track even a little bit the gamecock defense could hold enough to give SC the win out right, but I?ll play the chalk because this will be a hard fought game.

ND (-8) over Penn ST
This will be a slugfest and I expect the ND offense to rebound after last game. The Lions offense in my thoughts is faster at WR but the game will come down to home field and coaching. I like what Wies can do in regards to adjustments and I think at home the Irish will play above the level they are capable of and give the Lions a tough go. I think they show up like the team that played USC last season and not the team that played GT last week. Not saying ND was bad last week but offensively they looked pressured and out of sync. This week it should be different at home and I like what the home field does for this team. Penn St has a lot of talent but I am think Quinn responds and this game will be another good one today. Still the home field and the head coach give me the advantage, but I am always concerned about laying so much chalk to a very good team. Will be nice to watch and I am really looking at how ND's O-line responds after a lack lucter performance last week. The ND defense actually looked better than I thought and now I hope the offense follows suit.

Texas Tech (-7) over UTEP
The minors did everything possible to give the game against SDS away. The back up QB came in and threw and ran at will against them. Show exploited the UTEP defense and TT will take advantage of the holes. The red raiders started slow in their first game but I expect the passing game to be more fluid. Graham Harrell sparkled in his debut, tying a Tech freshman record with five touchdown passes while throwing for 342 yards in a 35-3 triumph over SMU. On the other side, Palmer threw FOUR picks last game and he has shown that he has not matured in the offence and Price is not going to pull him because he believes in his ability. I also like the running game of Texas tech, the complex offensive scheme provides mismatches and the RB is someone that can take advantage. The receivers always look sharp and they have a ton of talent which should take advantage of the UTEP secondary. The Miners struggled on offense against the Aztecs, though, as their 243 yards was the team's lowest total under Price. This is a Texas Tech offense and defense that is faster that a surprisingly fast UTEP team. Tech successfully disguised its underneath coverage against SMU and allowed only 71 yards passing. Missed tackles were a concern. Still this will look a lot like a track meet and Texas Tech is a better team for that type of game.

Ohio St (+2.5) over Texas
Role reversal for these two teams, both are VERY good but the edge in experience goes to OSU at QB. I expect Texas and their big O-line to run as No. Ill did but I think the deep passing game for Ohio St will be very successful. There is a lot of holes in regards to experience on the ohio st defense but they do have enough talent and speed to keep this game close. Being in texas I expect the horns to come out fired up and ready to play but after last season I think Troy Smith has something to prove. He has looked VERY good in the games he has played this and last season. Ginn will be a match up issue for Texas but Griffin will be keeping an eye on him and that will open up Gonzales. I wish the buckeyes had a more reliable TE, they still sure be able to move the ball and use their weapons. Smith can throw and the defense can match speed, it will be up to the running game for OSU to come out and help out Smith. If the running game can set the table the horns will be in for a long game.

Oregon (-4.5) over Fresno
If Nevada could have passed the ball they would have given the bulldogs a much better challenge in their first game. Saying that the bulldogs have their hands full with this Duck offense. Not only can Dixon throw a nice deep ball but he can make big plays scrambling and considering Row scrambles successfully against the Fresno defense Dixon should do even better. Then you can mix Stewart into the game plan, this is a kid Oregon is planning on having a break out year and he is off to a good start. The Oregon offense is off balance and they use a lot of misdirection plays which should open up holes in the defense. The playaction should be very effective because the Fresno defensive backs are not solid in coverage and the speed of Oregons WR should be a mismatch. In the last game Oregon finished with 299 rushing yards, 530 total yards and 34 first downs. The Duck offense will do their part but Oregon's defense will have to slow running back Dwayne Wright, who rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns in Fresno State's 28-19 win last Saturday over Nevada. Bulldogs have lost four straight to the Ducks, and last years game was an offensive show. This year IMO the ducks got better and Fresno is about the same and I think the Fresno defense cannot stop the ducks and the ducks will string together a few stops considering Pat Hill will not trust his QB to go deep down field (as seen in the Nevada game). Still should be a hard fought game because Fresno is tough at home but the Ducks should out run the bulldogs. This is a big play for me as well as the TT game.

adfreak - Leans on ASU and Rice
I think ASU got just scared enough last week to rebound. Rice is a good team with no quit and they will come to play a good UCLA team. I was thinking about plasying something small on ASU but with the beats I have been handled today think I might just ride the ducks. They are a pretty big play for me.
