I'm not some newbie and I specialize in totals:

348-290 posted plays

I know my baseball

some one TELL ME

how are the marlins getting no respect vs. the mets?

are you kidding me

pitching should set the lines

last night we had sanchez vs. williams (batting practice)

the marlins went off at about -120

I was all over that

should of been like -180 or so

and tonight we have johnson vs. perez (we all know about his problems the past few years)

marlins are only -127 or so

I don't get it

am I clueless

mets may get the win, but this line should be at least -180

what is going on here?

marlins at home, been very hot lately, and with much better pitching in these two games

I would imagine it has something to do with:

1) Mets best record in MLB
2) Mets a very public team
3) Florida still not getting respect due to $15M payroll

My advice is : Don't fight it. Reap the benefits.

Twins have won every home start by Santana this yr, and 22 straight at home going back to last yr., and yet he went off at -175 last time out. Shouldn't it be like -1000 or something?

I don't complain about it, I just load up and then go make a deposit at the bank.

this is the beauty of betting baseball

this is the beauty of betting baseball

people get caught up in teams and not pitchers

any nl team with say webb or carpenter on the mound vs. the mets with williams pitching like last night should be at least -180

always money to be made in this situations

johnson is comparable to schilling this year

if schilling were pitching at home tonight or yesterday vs. williams or even perez you better believe he would be more than -125

come on

If Clemons was pitching against the Mets tonight
in Houston against Perez it would never be -180

Your forgetting 1 thing....the Mets can hit

I personally don`t like the game

So good luck tonight

yep

yep

i see what you are saying

but williams like last night should have been more than +110 or so on the road

and I still believe perez should be a bigger dog tonight

he is very inconsistent, but can still pitch a gem

Lucena:

I noticed that the number has gone down this morning to 118 and I see a 116 out there. I think the opener was the correct market number. It seems as though you have some strong reasons for what you think this line should be. I don't have a feel for the game, but, obviously, you do......
You see a number that doesn't appear to be correct (for whatever reason). The market supports that number. If it's me, I try to figure out what I missed (like your post). There may not be any other significant reasons (there doesn't have to be). If this is the number that the market supports, then it's a good line....
Many times that's what makes a play, a play.... you see value where many others do not.....
good luck today with whatever you decide....

the # seems about right to me...Fla doesn't hit lefties as well, and the Mets do have the best record in baseball with the best bullpen, and an AL like lineup...Fla bullpen is mediocre at best...

In my opinion Vegas sets this line that low for a reason, If the line was set at -180 I don't think you would get much action as you would with the current line that's set now. There would definately be alot of money on the Mets if you could get them at +160 and they definatley have a great shot at winning these games with the lineup they have. With the line set at -120 you get action on both sides and Vegas doesn't lose much no matter which side hit's. I would say the Mets really don't beat you with pitching either, except when Pedro is out there. You also have to remember that Webb,Carpenter,Schilling and Clemens are all established pitcher's, Sanchez and Johnson are not, plus Schilling has a great lineup to help him out, Florida's is avg at best. I don't think it has anything to do with respect, I think it is more that the Mets have a great team and Soul Train is right, You will not see the Mets getting those kind of odds in the National league from anyone.
